If a customer buys a skid-mounted crusher for his current project but needs a track-mounted one for his next project, instead of buying a new mobile crusher, Taurian can replace the skid with tracks at the customer’s site itself! says C. Ramana Kumar, Head – Marketing & Sales Support, Taurian Minerals Processing Pvt. Ltd.
Can you brief us on your company’s key profile?
Since 2005, Taurian Minerals has provided solutions for crushing, screening, and mineral beneficiation by engineering and manufacturing state-of-the-art equipment and plants. These are designed to produce the highest quality end products from hard and soft rocks, gravel, sand, ore, and industrial minerals.
With capacities ranging from 100 to 500 TPH and options from stationary to portable to mobile plants, customers are bound to find a suitable solution for their size reduction needs. The company manufactures a wide range of crushers, viz., jaw, cone, VSI, HSI, and roll, as well as vibrating equipment such as screens and feeders and beneficiation equipment, i.e., sand washers. In addition to best-in-class engineering, customers also get matching after-sales support in service and spare/wear parts.
What innovations have you been adding to your crushers to reduce the size of aggregates and industrial minerals?
As our tagline says, “Innovation, Performance, Quality”, Taurian has come up with a slew of innovative products, e.g., the Taurian Swift Series displayed at the recently concluded Excon 2022 in Bengaluru. The Swift Primary Crusher, Secondary Crusher, and Screen are in-built hybrid models which can be run on diesel by onboard gensets or connected to the grid, the changeover being facilitated quickly by a switch. As can be seen from the attached pictures of the primary and secondary crushers, these are compact, self-contained and can be mounted on either a skid or track.
Its uniqueness lies in that if a customer buys a skid-mounted crusher for his current project but needs a track-mounted one for his next project, instead of buying a new mobile crusher, Taurian can replace the skid with tracks at the customer’s site itself! With an incremental investment, the customer can quickly put the machine into operation, resulting in higher utilisation and thus lower CapEx/operating expenses and a healthier bottom line.
The Taurian Swift Primary Crusher is also pre-engineered for recycling applications. A magnetic separator can be fitted on the product conveyor to remove metallic items before the crushed material is either stockpiled or sent for further crushing. It is also pre-engineered for fitting an afterscreen to remove GSB-suitable material. The Taurian Swift Secondary Crusher
comes with an in-built post-screen and a recirculation conveyor for oversized material to be re-crushed. This ensures closed circuit crushing on the same chassiswhile producing 1 product (e.g., GSB) or three products, e.g., (-20) mm, for use in road/concrete works.
Which stone/rock crushers are mainly deployed at project sites to ensure high productivity? What are the key highlights of your crushing and screening solutions?
Depending on the project specifications for aggregate, it could be a 2-stage crushing and screening plant deploying jaw and cone crushers or a 3-stage one involving the VSI at the tertiary stage. The VSI is more of a shaping machine than for size reduction as it ensures intense attrition scrubbing between crushed stones, thereby improving the stones’ elongation and flakiness index (EFI) to be within specs. A tertiary fine cone crusher is also a good solution for size reduction and shaping as long as the machine is choke-fed. A fine cone crusher also minimises ultra-fines production (<75 microns).
Based on the type of rock being crushed and the project requirements, Taurian has a full range to offer from 100 to 500 TPH (2/3/4-stage crushing and screening plants). Taurian can also provide its unique triple combo wash to remove silt and excess ultra-fines of (-) 75 microns from the sand for use in road and building construction. With one or two rubber-lined hydro-cyclones and a high-frequency dewatering screen fitted with polyurethane modular mesh, this has an extensive product range of 70–200 TPH.
One of the most recent Taurian additions is the country’s first and only 3-Deck High-Frequency Screen, which debuted at Excon 2022. It has numerous applications, including removing ultrafine or clay from crushed or natural sand. Its modular design, which includes walkways, an easy-to-use wire mesh securing design, and noise-free Vibro/ hydraulic motors at 3,500 and 4,500 RPM, makes it a pleasure to operate while producing spec-grade m-sand and p-sand. Its simple yet efficient operation is complemented by an optional heavy-duty 2-deck design with the discharge side. suspended on chains for quick inclination changes
Taurian has introduced the HPGR Roll Crusher for tertiary or quaternary fine crushing applications, such as producing concrete, fine aggregates, or high-quality manufactured sand (m-sand), regardless of rock hardness.
With an integrated feed distribution hopper, the slow-speed counter-rotating rolls ensure effective size reduction without producing excessive ultra-fines, reducing recirculation load and avoiding investment in classification equipment unless silt removal is required. Taurian has launched the TJ 550 Jaw Crusher to cater to extra-large construction projects or large mining projects, which can break 1500-1700 mm large lumps to less than 250 mm in seconds and produce up to 750 TPH! Taurian has also proudly launched the CG 550 Cone Crusher, India’s largest cone crusher, with a head diameter of 1500 mm and powered by a 500 HP motor.
It can produce approximately 325 TPH of (-) 23 mm in a 2-stage process! Taurian is at the forefront of innovation by launching new goods to meet the ever-expanding and altering needs of the quarrying sector.
