Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) has acquired CDI Engineering Solutions, a 75-year-old US-based firm, expanding its global capabilities in sustainable engineering, energy transition, and infrastructure, and promoting TCE’s aim of delivering creative, value-driven solutions.

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE), India’s premier pure-play design, engineering, and project management consultancy, has announced the purchase of CDI Engineering Solutions (CDI), previously Comprehensive Designers, Inc. (CDI), a prominent US-based design engineering firm with a 75-year history. This strategic purchase is a key step forward in TCE’s ambition to become a global business of scale, delivering value to its customers throughout the world through efficient, innovative, and sustainable project development.

CDI, named one of the Top 20 organisations in the Industrial/Oil & Gas industry by Engineering News-Record (ENR), has built a reputation for expertise in both traditional and emergent energy areas, such as battery materials, carbon capture, and low/zero-carbon fuels. CDI has long-standing customer connections and an established track record of delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality projects, making it a trusted partner to top worldwide companies. CDI’s skills and client list, which includes numerous Fortune 500 organisations, complement TCE’s strengths in engineering design and project management.
