Demand drivers for pumps and valves in India

There are tremendous growth prospects for pumps and valves in India and the world economy due to the rising population and growing demand for water. With the increase in industries coming in, the demand for pumps and valves will further augment to cater to the various industrial liquid. 

Interestingly, the ever-growing infrastructural developments will further boost the demand scenario. Most importantly, the wastewater treatment plants’ per capita population is also very minimal, which in future may augment with the popularity and growing pumps and its manufacturing. 

Selection criteria for an efficient water distribution system 

We should consider the below selection parameters before finalising a water distribution system such as:

  • Water should be distributed to customers with appropriate pressure, quantity, and quality
  • The water source should be nearby the facility and it should be a natural resource or an output from the wastewater treatment plant. Because borehole water supply will reduce the water table which will be needed for construction activities
  • Distribution pipes should be selected to avoid any deterioration of water quality in the system
  • The system should be capable of supplying water to all the planned places
  • Adequate amount of water should be available for fire fighting emergency output points
  • The layout should be planned in a way, so that no customers will be left without water supply, during any repair or maintenance work
  • All the distribution pipes should be at a proper distance from sewer lines to avoid any contamination
  • The water distribution system should be fairly watertight to keep water losses to the minimum
