Dr. Shaju K. Albert graduated from The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in Metallurgy in 1984. He then joined the Dept. of Atomic Energy, training in Nuclear Engineering at BARC, and subsequently joined Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in 1985. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1997 from The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Dr. Albert has worked extensively in welding and joining, serving as Director of Metallurgy & Materials Group and Material Science Group at IGCAR until his recent retirement. He is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Metals and has received fellowships from the Government of Japan. Dr. Albert currently holds leadership positions in welding standardization committees and advisory boards, and serves as Associate Editor of Welding in the World. Additionally, he has been actively involved in academia, serving as Senior Professor in Homi Bhabha National Institute and guiding numerous students at various academic levels.
