In an e-mail interview with B2B Purchase, New Age Construction’s Managing Director Jayesh Vadukiya speaks about the status of construction equipment industry in India highlighting the company’s unique product offering. Excerpt

Could you share your views on the performance of construction equipment industry in India?

Construction equipment industry is one of the fastest growing industries in India due to high infrastructure need. Demand for construction equipment expected to grow to speed up the completion of the current projects as well as to fulfil the rising demand for newer segments like commercial projects, mining, and housing, agriculture which previously had low access and are slowly adopting standard machinery. With better availability of financing schemes and increased use of rentals, the scope of construction equipment industry seems bright. The rental market is a vital option for users planning to subside their large capital expenditures. Renting building machinery is especially expected to grow in tier 2 and tier 3 cities for small building ventures.

How do you see the future market potential?

In the next coming 20 years, the majority of growth in the construction industry is likely to come from 3 main segments – the urban sector, rural sector and the transportation sector. This indicates a robust growth of the equipment sector of India in the near future. With the emphasis on indigenisation, the businesses can fulfil domestic requirements with tailored and cost-effective options. This will be a great help for the suppliers to improve margins and costs. Also the buyback plans and used-equipment exchanges can help strengthen the market for the sales of used machinery.

The success of the construction ecosystem will depend on the tight collaboration among the industry, government and the policy makers to ensure that the challenges of this sector are overcome thereby paving a roadmap of growth and progress of the country.

What are your efforts to meet the requirements of construction related safety?

We provide robust safety solutions to our customer. Our Anti Sway Arrester mechanism avoids the swaying of RSP in the horizontal plane whereas Anti Tilting Device is a protection system to ensure uniform loading across the platform. This device gets actuated once the platform angle is tilted more than 4 degrees and cuts off to prevent the power supply.

Counterweight locking chain enables all the counter weights firmly placed on level ground and locked with lock and key arrangement thereby avoids un-authorised removal of counter weights.

Load cell with digital meter works as over load limit switch to prevent the overloading of the cradle by alarming the operator. The load will be measured by electronic load cell fitted on the platform. A manual or digital display of the load is also compulsory.

Also for the workers we provide safety helmet, safety jackets and safety belts with nylon rope to ensure safety of workers along with construction equipment.

What are the advantages of your steel suspended working platforms?

The suspended working platform developed by us is featured in strong construction adaptability, higher construction height, less occupation of construction land, high construction efficiency, easy erection, less labour need and etc. Moreover, our wire ropes are designed in such a way that its breaking force is 4.55 tonnes. So it gives more security and safety. Suspended platform has multi safety protection devices, such as automatic titling prevention device, emergency stop device, upper limit device, speed limiting device and manual tripping device and so on. Suspended platforms are designed with length of 1.3 metres, 2.5 metres, 5 metres, 7.5 metres, and 9 metres. So customers can select proper model according to their requirement.

Suspension mechanism parts are processed with hot galvanising. Thus, it has higher corrosion resistance than those processed with painting treatment. Also compared to scaffold and bamboos, suspended working platform is more reliable, safe, reusable and at competitive price.

How unique are your bar bending and cutting machines?

The main advantages of our bar cutting machines are low noise, high performance, less power loss, high efficiency and long life bar cutting machine. The casting is made by ductile cast iron, and the inside gear, gear shaft, and connecting rod were made by high quality steel or alloy steel. The important parts of the machine are under gone hardness treatment. The adoption of the large gear can improve the driven speed as well as the working life. The high cutting speed with simplified system enjoys 50 per cent faster than normal cutters.

The prime advantages of our bar bending machines include fastest bending speed, low power, high efficiency, high quality working plate, imported electric system. Gear and gear shaft are made by high quality of alloy steel and the important parts undergo hardness treatment.
