In an exclusive interaction at IMME 2022, Swagath Urethane talks about their products and R&D aspects for efficiency.

 Kindly brief us on your PU products and service offerings. How essential are PU elastomer components and urethane products for industrial applications?

Our company has two units, one at Hyderabad and the other at Bhuvneshwar. We produce cast polyurethane elastomer products employed in mining mineral benefication steel and aluminium industries and power plants. We use polyurethane to reduce wear and tear mostly in mining and mineral beneficiation industries with high abrasion and rough conditions; and raw material spinning in rough conditions. It is primarily polyurethane, whichis an elastomer having much better properties than rubber. It is used for applications requiring higher abrasion resistance and high load bearing capacity, where abrasion is more severe, and rubber does not work well.

 Which industries do you cater to the most?

We are the top producers and exporters of components made of high-quality polyurethane elastomers. We provide unparalleled goods, including urethane rollers, urethane liners, hydro cyclones, cleaning rigs, screen panels, polyurethane buckets, urethane wheels and castors, etc., thanks to our extensive expertise and knowledge. Speciality is a completely integrated manufacturing operation that meets the demands of almost every business area, from automated polyurethane processing to mould fabrication under one roof, including automation of material handling equipment factories, mining, the steel industry, and the aluminium industry; automobile oil and gas, general engineering, paper mills, windmills, and metal processing.

 How do you look at the R&D aspect to obtain maximum efficiency and reliability from your product offerings?

Elastomer is a petroleum-based chemical product that can only be adjusted in terms of its physical qualities. For example, you can do so if you want to increase the hardness, decrease the hardness, or increase the transaction for the application. As a result, we have a lab at our factory in Bhuvneshwar where we change the physical attributes based on customer demand.

Furthermore, we follow the prescribed procedure according to ISO 9001:2015 at Swagath Urethane to match global standards.

 Cost efficiency is also a key factor today. How are you dealing with the pricing competencies in the market and addressing the customer’s requirements?

We do all of our worldwide sourcing for materials, or we produce it at our Bhuvneshwar plant a low cost which is cheaper than we strive to reduce our rejection to manage the pricing. Day by day, polyurethane applications are rising, and we are receiving a good response from customers in the market. We will continue to move forward with our ambitious build-out programme in the booming field of polyurethanes to provide the product to high-value markets with the combined knowledge and financial might of our group behind us.
