Gopi Krishna More, Managing Director, Torsa Machines Limited. In an Interview B2B Purchase.
With the increasing infrastructural trends, how do you access demand for mining, crushing, and screening equipment in India?
The Government of India, under the able leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has resolved to provide India and Indians with the world-class infrastructure that the Indian people deserve. To build a large and diverse country like India, it takes time, and we have the momentum already. Crushing & Screening are an integral part of any infrastructure development projects and the demand is set to steadily rise over the medium and long term.
What changes do you see in the equipment business since we are returning to normalcy?
Companies have had time to reflect and spend time and resources in innovation during the last two years. Whether it is crushing & screening, mining, or earthmoving equipment, I believe AI and IOT will play a key role in the equipment business. Business owners, managers, and equipment manufacturers, as well as the regular man extensively rely upon digital dada, because it can store history, making decision making easier and operations more efficient.
What are your expectations from Excon 2022?
Our key focus and expectation from the Excon 2022 is to have an opportunity to reach out and interact with the industry’s veterans, customers, and associates under one roof. This is the first largest exhibition since 2019; companies are expecting to meet their stakeholders from the CE industry and the component manufacturers. This event is also a celebration for us to obtain normalcy, and we, at Torsa are looking forward to it.
Which products/equipment/technology can we see during the Excon? What will be your focus during the event?
At Excon, we are going to see a diverse range of the latest construction equipment, along with a range of new product launches. During the event, Torsa’s focus would be to learn, interact and engage with the best in the industry. Apart from our sales team, we will also have representatives from the sourcing, supply chain and HR team who would explain you and take you through the latest developments across the world, especially in the CE business. The sourcing team would be looking for new components and supplies, and the HR team would like to connect with the best resources in the CE industry.
What kind of investments are you planning to make in the coming years? Presently, Torsa is progressively setting up a factory in Kolkata, which is a 50000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art modern facility that would increase our production capacity by four and bring us closer to our customers in Eat India. The estimated capital cost of the project is about `25 lakh and the revamped production capacity of our plants, once completed, will be about 125-200 units of Crushing & Screening plants per annum.
