The 12th Edition of TrafficInfraTech Expo opens at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, with advanced products and solutions for smarter traffic and parking management and road infrastructure.
The most anticipated traffic, transportation, and road safety infrastructure expo, TrafficInfraTech Expo 2024, along with Road InfraTech Expo and Parking InfraTech Expo, opened its doors in the nation’s capital. The show has brought together 86 exhibitors showcasing products and technologies that aim to improve the daily management of traffic, roads and parking with better solutions by the authorities, which will enhance commuter convenience as India improves its road transport and infrastructure.
India’s traffic infrastructure has grown significantly, with continued improvements in road infrastructure, making it the world’s second largest road network. Over three days, the event will showcase the industry’s top ideas and demonstrations, as well as provide enough opportunities for participation and networking.

Chief Guest Shri Mahmood Ahmed, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) urged everyone to prioritise sustainability and safety in product and service development., “First of all I thank everyone, the organisers and participants as you are rendering great services by doing something for the country and the world by imparting safety. There will be many discussions happening over the three days of the expo on smart mobility, road infrastructure, and transport sector. I believe the out of these discussions shall identify gaps, suggest possible solution which can be collectively presented to us with your suggestions, so we can add our bit and get those implemented, making our transport and traffic infrastructure sustainable and safe.”
The expo showcases a variety of products, technological solutions, and technologies that help road operators and enforcement authorities implement Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). It allows them to manage their networks more efficiently. These tools make it possible to analyse traffic flow in real time, use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), monitor vehicle movement, and more. Fast Tags for tolling systems, modern CCTV surveillance, road safety signals and indications, parking indicators, fuel monitoring systems, and other items and technology will enable a diverse product exhibition.
India’s dedication to upgrading its transport framework is shown in government infrastructure development efforts such as the Smart Cities Mission, Bharatmala Paryojana, and the PM Gati Shakti plan, among others. The exhibition emphasises the importance of smart and tech-based products and solutions that will assist traffic operators and associated authorities in easily managing road congestion, networks, and surveillance systems, among other things. Attendees can learn about real-time traffic analysis tools, automatic number plate recognition systems, and novel parking options for reducing congestion and improving road safety.
Commenting on the occasion, Jayram Nair, Chairman of VIS Group, expressed: “This year, I am happy to see the product innovations and vibrant displays by various exhibitors. I feel delighted that the expo is rightly bridging the gap between solutions that matter and the respective user industry. This year, the expo has about several new exhibiting companies and participants from around nine countries. Commenting on the technology aspect of the expo, Raj Manek, Executive Director, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, shared: “It is great to witness the scale of innovations on the show floor. The expo is bringing forward tech-based new solutions that are going to be an integral part of traffic management operations and infrastructure-related solutions. We certainly need solutions that can enable effective management of dense road networks and traffic congestion and management systems that make parking hassle-free. These technologies will help streamline traffic movement.”
Aside from the exciting exhibition, the expo will feature specially curated knowledge sessions on the theme ‘Smart Mobility Conference 2024: Enabling Responsible Mobility’, power-packed round table discussions on urban mobility traffic and infrastructure, establishing intelligent transport systems, challenges in the integration and scaling of human-centric Advanced Traffic Management Systems, intelligent and smart camera systems, and various case studies.
The expo has also received support from several regulatory bodies/ministries and associations, including the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), and the National Highway Builders Federation.
The three-day event, organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India and VIS Group, will finish on October 24, 2024.
