Viva introduces A2 Fire Retardant Core production facility in India

Viva opens India’s first A2 Fire Retardant Core facility, representing a significant advancement in ACP safety. The globally approved A2 panels have a low combustibility, making them perfect for high-rise buildings, hospitals, airports, and other fire-prone infrastructure projects.

Viva, India’s premier maker of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACPs), proudly announces the opening of its cutting-edge A2 Fire Retardant Core production facility, the first of its type in India. With this project, Viva establishes a new standard for fire safety, innovation, and international standard compliance in the ACP industry.

The A2 core represents the highest level of fire safety in ACPs, with 90 percent mineral content and 10 percent virgin polyethylene, resulting in very limited combustibility, minimal smoke emission (s1), and zero flaming droplets (d0), as certified by EN 13501-1 (Class A2-s1, d0), the strict European fire classification. Viva’s A2 panels have also been tested and certified by ASTM E84 and NFPA 285 (USA), lending global credibility to their fire resistance capabilities.

Why A2 core matters 
Traditional PE Core panels, which are 100 percent polyethylene, are extremely flammable and represent substantial fire hazards in critical infrastructure. In contrast, A2 core ACPs are designed for high-rise buildings, airports, hospitals, commercial complexes, and other public-use facilities where fire protection is critical.
