Volvo CE introduces new hydraulic breakers for compact excavators

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has announced new hydraulic breakers designed exclusively for its smallest series of compact excavators, which provide increased precision and power in breaking tasks.

The new hydraulic breakers, HB01 and HB02, are intended to function in tandem with Volvo CE’s smallest compact excavators, providing robust yet lightweight power suitable for urban and indoor applications. The HB01 is an entirely new type of hydraulic breaker, whereas the HB02 is an updated version of its predecessor with enhanced specs.

When properly equipped, small excavators can be incredibly flexible labour tools. They are compact yet robust, easy to transport, operate, and service, and can do a variety of tasks in small, tight spaces, including digging holes and trenching, as well as minor demolition work, landscaping, excavating, and levelling, offering up new opportunities for clients.

Lightweight power for urban and indoor projects

The HB01 is a new addition to the company’s hydraulic breaker lineup. It weighs only 79kg and is designed to work best with Volvo’s smallest compact excavators, such as the ECR18E and ECR18 Electric. The breaker’s lightweight design keeps these short-radius machines stable, making them excellent for trenching in congested urban settings and light inside demolition.

The redesigned HB02 hydraulic breaker is slightly lighter than its predecessor and has a 45mm diameter tool. It maintains the production power and productivity that consumers expect. Pin-grabber, symmetrical, and Lehnhoff breaker brackets are offered for both hydraulic breaker versions.
