At bauma 2025 in Munich, Germany, a ground-breaking all-electric portfolio from Volvo CE is pushing the frontier of innovation.
The company made history by introducing the first battery-electric articulated haulers of their size class in the world as part of their zero-emission lineup. Volvo CE also demonstrated that customers can choose from a variety of conventional combustion engine alternatives for all zero-emission models on exhibit, catering to their needs at every stage of their transformation process. Along with its product line, the business also introduced several innovative service options that increase clients’ sustainability, productivity, and efficiency.
Volvo CE’s bauma platform is setting the standard with its first-ever zero-emission-only lineup at the Munich show, which takes place from April 7–13. This marks a significant milestone in sustainable innovation.

Volvo CE President Melker Jernberg states, “This zero-emission lineup is a marker of our commitment to drive change. Together with our pioneering service, solutions and updated portfolio of conventional machine variants, we show that we stand alongside our customers to support them across every stage of their journey. We show that we are committed to our ambitions, not just because we can, but because it is the right thing to do.”
Launching the world’s first battery-electric articulated haulers of their size class
The highlight of the all-electric platform is the groundbreaking unveiling of the A30 Electric articulated transporter, the first of its kind in a crucial industrial sector for Volvo CE and the first battery-powered solution of its size class to be serially produced worldwide. In 2026, a limited number of customers in specific European regions will be able to rent it in addition to the larger A40 Electric, guaranteeing that quarrying, mining, and construction clients may now combine great productivity with a more environmentally friendly operation.
The mining, building, and quarrying sectors will all have zero emissions thanks to the A30 Electric.

Meeting customers at every stage of their transformation journey
Volvo CE will also demonstrate that customers can choose from conventional combustion engine alternatives for all zero-emission vehicles on exhibit. These engines are built to provide industry-leading fuel efficiency, with up to 15 percent improvement, and great productivity. No matter where a customer is in their transformation journey, Volvo CE can offer flexible solutions for a wide range of needs thanks to this multi-technology approach.
The Bauma showcase will also feature cutting-edge technologies from Volvo Trucks, Volvo Penta, and Volvo Financial Services, demonstrating a solid partnership and being a part of a comprehensive solution platform.
Transforming operations with pioneering service solutions
Volvo CE is launching several innovative new service options to go along with its zero-emission portfolio. These consist of an update to Volvo CE’s digital toolkit, a new Load Ticket tool for more efficient billing, and two new services: Site Operations for fleet monitoring that is independent of brand and Site Optimisation for customers seeking advice on how to increase efficiency.
These new services are available at Volvo CE’s interactive Solutions Bar at Bauma, where clients can network with professionals from various fields and find a customised bundle of Volvo solutions that match their needs.

Site Operations provides clients with fleet monitoring that is independent of brand. As well as the all-new A30 Electric, highlights on display include:
- The revamped EC230 Electric excavator, which now provides a full day of operation
- The updated compact electric range, ensuring customers are more empowered to drive down emissions while elevating business opportunities
- The improved PU500 Power Unit to enable rapid mobile charging of both Volvo and non-Volvo electric machines, trucks and tools
- The newly launched EWR150 Electric, the company’s first battery-powered wheeled excavator, and the EW240 Electric Material Handler grid-connected excavator.
