The star of EXCON 2017!
Volvo CE feels EXCON 2017 is a perfect platform to highlight the company’s unique position in supporting India’s ongoing infrastructure buildout. The company is all set to feature a wide spectrum of innovative products at EXCON 2017, the largest construction equipment exhibition in South Asia this year. Commenting on the new launch, Dimitrov Krishnan, Vice President and Head, Volvo CE India said, “Our new EC200D excavator will be the star of EXCON 2017. We are launching it in EXCON 2017 and this will be the first chance for many to see the new machine up close and personal.”
Unique features of EC200D
The EC200D excavator features Volvo CE’s famed fuel efficiency, a bucket breakout force of 123 kN and an arm tearout force of 96 kN, which helps it deliver high job site productivity and fast cycle times. The new excavator was designed specifically for general construction work, Dimitrov informs.
Focus on road building
Infrastructure development continues to be the key growth driver in India and while the country is making strong progress there is still much to be done. While answering to a question about the objectives of launching new products, Dimitrov says, “In India, we are seeing most activity in the road building sector with numerous projects progressing. Understandably we are seeing the highest levels of demand for excavators, compactors and pavers for this application and its associated industries.”
Key attractions
In addition to presenting new machines at the show, Volvo CE will also be displaying the EC210D, a 20-tonne-rated excavator tailored for heavy-duty applications such as mining and quarrying but also suitable for general construction.
The largest excavator in the Volvo line, the EC950E, will also be on display at the Volvo booth. It is a 90-tonne-rated crawler excavator and likely to be the largest on show in Bangalore. It has
a maximum bucket capacity of 6 cu.m. Its breakout force of 424 kN and arm tear-out force of 408 kN help deliver the machine’s unparalleled digging performance.
For the road building sector, Volvo CE will be showing a range of machines: the P6820C ABG tracked paver, the DD90B asphalt compactor, and the SD110BA soil compactor.
The P6820C ABG on show offers paving widths of up to 10 metres and comes equipped with a 142 kW-rated Volvo engine. Its paving output can reach up to 700 tonnes per hour. The DD90B and SD110BA are two relative newcomers to the Volvo family. Both launched last year, Volvo CE will be taking the opportunity to present them again. The DD90B is a 9-tonne double drum asphalt compactor which delivers a smooth finish in fewer passes for greater efficiency. The SD110BA is an 11-tonne class single drum compactor for earthwork compaction. Both are manufactured at the Volvo plant in Bangalore.
Rounding out the Volvo product display at EXCON 2017 is the L150H from Volvo CE’s line of wheel loaders. This popular model has a bucket capacity of up to 9.5 cu.m. and a static tipping load of 15,900 kg.
