Shitalkumar of Filtrec Bharat discusses the critical characteristics of their hydraulic filters, which are primarily used in the construction and mining industries and industrial hydraulic machineries.

Please talk about the range of filters you are presently focusing on.​

Filtrec is a leading Hydraulic Filtration company having presence in global market & India for last 3 decades. Filtrec Bharat manufactures and supplies hydraulic filtration products, including industrial hydraulics and mobile hydraulic systems used in construction and mining equipment. We primarily work with large multinational OEMs from these segments. Our manufacturing plant near Bangalore produces most of the filters required by our India customers, which aligns with Indian government’s “Make in India” policy.

How do you avoid downtime and the associated maintenance expense?

Our research and development team is advancing the development of our filter product line by analysing the effects of the contaminants in the environment on the lifespan of products and equipment. We develop the products as per the most advanced industry specifications and requirements, which in turn extend the equipment’s lifespan by lowering contamination induced wear and tear of the equipment thereby reducing the maintenance cost and equipment downtime losses.

How do you ensure effective and high-quality outflow through your filters once the process is completed?

Once the process is complete, ensuring the filters are properly packed is the most vital requirement. Because these filters have pore sizes of 5–10 microns, they can get easily contaminated and affected by external atmospheric particulate contamination. Therefore, better packaging and transportation are essential parameters, until these products are delivered to the end user for installation and usage. Proper storage for these filters at customer end is also important to maintain these filters free from contamination and rust till their shelf life.

With increased industrialisation, how do you intend to expand your product line?

Filtrec Bharat is expanding its product line in India in 2023. In India, we already have a manufacturing facility for hydraulic filter cartridges and filter assemblies. Previously, we used to import parts and products from our parent company in Italy. We are, however, keeping up with industry trends by developing and manufacturing products and solutions that meet the BSIV and BSVI requirements, with a renewed emphasis on domestic manufacturing in India. In addition to our existing cartridge filter line, we are expanding our manufacturing base to include domestic manufacturing of spin on filters which are mostly used for mobile hydraulic applications like construction, mining & HEMM segments.

What are your plans for product launches and the addition of new solutions in 2023–2024?

Filtrec is scheduled to launch spin on filters this year, which will be available by mid of 2023. We are also expanding into manufacturing of filtration components which will give us an cutting edge advantage over our competitors. We will manufacture the components needed for all our requirements, producing a higher-quality product at affordable cost. Our sever-expanding Product portfolio includes Pressure, Return & suction line filters, replacement elements, spin-on elements, suction strainers, Air & Filler breathers and Level Gauges etc.
