We, at BEML Limited are showcasing a live display of our latest technology for construction equipment at Excon-2021 that includes: 

BG605I Motor Grader: Powered with BSIV CEV Compliant powerful Diesel Engine with Gross Power 118 kW @ 2200 RPM and fitted with 12 feet blade.

BG405A Motor Grader: Powered with BSIV CEV Compliant Powerful Diesel Engine with Gross Power 98 kW (133 HP) @ 2300 RPM and fitted with 10 feet blade.

BL30-1 Wheel Loader: Powered with BSIV CEV Compliant Electronically Governed Turbocharged Diesel Engine with Gross Power 165 kW @ 2300 RPM with standard Bucket of 3.1 Cu.M.

BD85 Bulldozer: Fitted with BEML BS6D125-1, Turbocharged Diesel Engine developing 230 FHP @ 2000 RPM and Power Shift Transmission.

Greener Technologies 

When it comes to sustainable equipment, BEML has always been working at the ground level to develop products and technologies as per the latest emission norms. A few recent ones include BEML’s Wheel Loaders and Motor Graders; they are fitted with engines that fit the latest emission norms compliant engines.

BEML manufactures and supplies electric hydraulic excavators (100T and 180T Class) to the mining industry. They are extremely environmentally friendly as they are powered by electric motors.

BEML’s equipment is indigenously manufactured with maximum local content and fitted with the latest technological features to obtain optimum reliability and productivity. They are equipped with the required safety features and are manufactured after a thorough inspection of their load conditions and applications. Moreover, our equipment is backed by BEML’s strong team of sales & marketing, service and technical support, spread across India.

Some of the latest technologies and solution on mining equipment include: 

• Electronic engines with data logging system.
• AC drives system for Electric dump trucks which is latest technology, more reliable and has longer life. 
• Environmental friendly Electric Hydraulic Excavators for Mining application – Driven by Electric Motors. 
• On board payload system for dumpers. 
• Safety features: Operator fatigue monitoring system, Auto Dipping System, Electronic type proximity avoidance system, Front and Rear View Camera, Anti Collision Device and Blind Spot Mirrors. 

As the demand for coal is constantly increasing, mining companies are planning for bigger mines with higher coal production. This requires the deployment of higher capacity mining equipment to achieve the targeted production. 

To meet the market demand, BEML has indigenously developed and manufactured the following higher capacity mining equipment with the latest technologies:

• BH150E Electric Dump Truck with 136 MT (150T) payload 
• BH205E Electric Dump Truck with 186 MT (205T) payload 
• Environmentally friendly BE1800E Electric Hydraulic Excavator (180 T class) 
• BE1800D Hydraulic Excavator (180 T class) 
• BD475-2 Bulldozer (850 HP class

These are deployed in the field under trial / regular orders and are working satisfactorily.

Further, electrically driven mining equipment; 20 Cu.M class Rope Shovel &24 Cu.M Dragline which are environmentally friendly and which reduces carbon prints are under development.

This is in line with Government’s policy of ‘Make in India’ and the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Business opportunities in the mining sector

The demand for power is ever increasing due to the various developmental activities happening across the country. Therefore, there is a huge potential opportunity in the coal mining sector. The Indian government has set an ambitious goal of having a $5 trillion economy by 2024-25.

The total capital expenditure in infrastructure sectors in India is expected to be 111 lakh crore from fiscal 2020 to 2025.Furthermore, the government’s infrastructure development plans are driving the demand for iron and steel, cement, copper, and aluminium sectors, which in turn is driving the demand for mining equipment.

Manufacturing at BEML 

Considering the changing market requirements, BEML has indigenously developed and is manufacturing higher capacity mining equipment with the latest technology. We have also upgraded our construction equipment (Wheel Loaders and Motor Graders) with upgraded engines that comply with the latest CEV emission norms.
