ParexGroup is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialty chemicals for construction industry. Within India, it operates under two brands, Davco, which has a range of waterproofing products and Lanko which is into technical mortar products. Speaking about the special products, Vaidya says, “ParexGroup’s offering can be classified for four applications. In the area of waterproofing, we provide a range of polyurethane and acrylic based solutions, available which helps to contain water leakage. Some innovative solutions are meant for roof top gardening, metal sheets. For flooring, we are into a range of self levelling and rapid setting solutions used to level, bridge differences in floor level etc.”

While in the areas of Grouts, that are – used in multiple cases like covering of voids in precast panels, bedding of industrial equipment, anchor bolts. Some innovative solutions are used in beams, slabs and stairs as single component, free flowing structural micro concrete.”
Why Parex
Throwing light on what makes Parex attract more attention than the others, Vaidya said, “When we execute a jobsite, we share technical expertise which ensures timely completion with quality finish. We have our own team of in-house trained applicators who can carry out such site with ease. Apart from this, we offer high quality products which have been tested in NABL accredited labs time and again with success. Post site completion, we also offer maintenance services if required.” Parex also offers end-to-end solution which adds to the comfort and convenience of end users,.
Recent innovations
Vaidya also talked about the recent innovations that he notices in construction chemicals industry. He says, “These days, most of the new construction has sufficient provision for waterproofing treatment and with growing demand, better tools for execution that leads to time savings and quality finishes are coming up. Polyurethane and acrylic based coatings are gaining popularity. “
He also talked about the growing awareness of waterproofing system. “People seems to be understanding the cost of waterproofing repair in existing structures which were constructed in earlier times and where proper waterproofing treatment was not considered during construction. Moreover it also affects the structural strength of buildings,” he says.
Payment concerns
According to Vaidya, in the current business scenario, any delay in project (or temporary stall) leads to delays in payment and affected operating cash flow. As a result every business is striving to protect their interests by minimising credit sales. “We too have our standard credit terms as per company policy and we negotiate with clients depending on the nature of project and past experiences we had,” speaks Vaidya.
Crossing hurdles
Parex recently executed waterproofing repair job site of a warehouse that belongs to a well known global trust in Bhiwandi in May. Just prior to the arrival of monsoon, the client wanted to resolve water leakage from the roof which was pending from a long time.
“The area of 20,000 square feet was completed in a record time of 18 days with in house team of applicator. The customer was delighted as the issue was resolved,” concludes Vaidya.
