Lafarge Holcim-owned ACC Concrete is one of the largest manufacturers of ready-mix concrete in India. It set up Indias first commercial ready-mix concrete plant in Mumbai way back in 1994. Making of The Park
The Park by Lodha Group is a luxury real estate project being developed in Worli, Mumbai. The projects site comprises of six towers of 90 floors each in the heart of South Mumbai.

Creating skylines with Indiabulls Sky Projects
ACC Concrete is involved in the development of Indiabulls Real Estates premium residential projects namely Sky Blu, Sky Forest, Sky Suite and Sky 882 projects. Sky Blu project, located in Worli, South Mumbai, bears four towers of 50 floors each in Worli.

Indiabulls has allotted two M1 batching plant to ACC in January last year. So far, ACC has supplied more than one lakh cubic metre. Major grades supplied are M95, M80 Quadblend, M80, M70 Quad-blend, and M70.

The IS code 456 is specifying the grades up to M80, whereas ACC is already supplying the grades M95 and M100 to its customers. We are developing superior grade of concrete for the state-of-the-art projects. The strength of ready-mix concrete being produced at our plants is higher than the characteristic strength mentioned in Indian Standard (IS) Codes, claims Banchhor.

Modernised Kolkata airport
ACC won the order for commissioning of dedicated batching plants to meet the requirement of concrete for modernisation plan of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. The company set up two plants, M2 and CP30, which started production in February 2009. There were total 2, 91,129 cubic metre and 19,455 cubic metre of ready-mix concrete produced by the respective plants.

Centre of Excellence
ACC Limited opened up its Centre of Excellence (CoE), an experiential showroom for its innovative value added products (VAPs). It showcases pioneering cement and concrete products, solutions for green buildings and sustainable construction offered by ACC.

The centre is serving as a hub within the ACCs Thane complex to demonstrate ACCs concrete achievements, display products, services and innovations in cement and concrete technologies.

The new range of products which can be experienced at the CoE is unique as they include features which make them suitable for commercial projects as well as attractive to home owners. They can act as substitutes to materials which are currently used which are not as durable and eco-friendly. These are not only green but also much more durable than their traditional counterparts. Home buyers can use these products for various purposes such as beautifying, holstering and repairing, Banchhor stated.

Visitors at the CoE can experience textured concrete such as ACC Imprintcrete or Staincrete which replicate the look and feel of traditional materials such as stone, wood and marble.

Additionally, an installation of Permecrete a high performance porous concrete, demonstrates its speedy drainage of water into the lower surface. This concrete is apt for areas with drainage problems and also helps in improving the level of the ground water table.

Flowcrete or self compacting concrete is especially designed for complicated and difficult to access structures for easy placement, high quality surface finish, reduced noise levels, safe working environment, thinner concrete sections, greater freedom in design, reduction in labour cost, improved durability, lower permeability, and faster construction.

Another unique product is Thermalcrete, a concrete that helps moderate indoor temperature and hence reduce electricity bills. These and the other VAPs are green, cost effective, long lasting and smart choices for the modern home owner.

Also difficult demolition of concrete and rock can be done in easy way with ACCONEX  Silent non explosive and demolition agent. Colour pigments which can be used in the concrete mix have been creatively demonstrated at the centre in concrete portraits. n
