Featuring the advanced emerging equipment for bridge construction and their USP.
Nowadays, the bridge construction happens in multiple methods of execution. For example, the bridges across Himalayan rivers are dimensionally challenging and with perennial water flowing, the construction process requires special methods like bringing concrete and placing it by floating barges. Whereas, in metro cities, the challenge is heavy traffic conditions where ROBs and other types of bridges are constructed where only minimum space is available for carrying out the construction activity.
Schwing S43 SX and S36 X
V. G. Sakthikumar, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter Sales and Services Pvt Ltd says, “In urban condition, our customers prefer precast technique whereas in infrastructure projects in rural areas, concrete production placement happens in – situ. Schwing Stetter offers machineries for both these methodologies and we modify equipment to meet the special pumping requirement of the customer.”
Schwing S43 SX and S36 X Truck mounted concrete boom pumps increase the concrete pouring speed which in turn helps the project to be completed on time while ensuring higher accuracy and quality in concrete pouring. On the other hand, a boom pump requires very less manpower, a driver and an operator are sufficient to do a typical concreting work and is extremely easy to use, operate and maintain. The boom pump offers the flexibility of moving the pipeline at will and also handling two sides with ease. Along with the boom pumps, Stetter horizontal, mobile and compact concrete batching plants as well as Stetter Transit mixers with a capacity of 3 cu.m to 10 cu.m are in action at many of the bridge projects in India and abroad. The company’s innovative Stetter Self Loading Mixers along with concrete pumps are also being used in many of the small bridges and culverts.

Tracking data with Schwing’s vector control system
Schwing truck mounted concrete boom pump S43 SX has a compact 5 section and S36 X has a compact 4-section placing boom in roll and fold design, made of fine grain steel with attached pipeline, resting on a slewable base column with fully hydraulic and telescopic ‘S’ and ‘X’ type outriggers. Schwing Stetter India offers vector control system in boom pump which constantly tracks data. The company offers rock valve technology in the concrete pump segment which is able to pump high grade concrete mix like M95 with far higher pressure, allowing the heights and distances for concrete pumping to be greatly increased. Schwing pump has own integrated control block which is highly efficient to delivered hydraulic power to the respective actuators and also because of its integrated design no need of more hydraulic piping. Schwing used hydraulic pilot signals for operation of pumping strokes and there is not a chance of signal failure when compared with an electrical signal system. Schwing provides hard wear off parts for critical application to achieve longer change interval. Special concrete pipes with various thick and inner abrasive coating are also available.
Stetter Self Loading Mixer SLM 4000 and 2200 does the entire process of scoop, load, mix, transport and deliver to place the concrete contents independently. It only requires one person to operate. The machine comes with electronic weigh batching and has a typical concrete output of 12-14 cubic metre per hour. The drum swivelling angle feature has a major advantage of 255 degrees and double helix spirals are with T-shape wear protection for faster discharge. Mixing time is very less at 2 minutes. It has a special feature of shovel gate opening and closing system with no spillage while unloading into the drum. These self-loading mixers have the capabilities to load 650 kgs of aggregate and
800 kgs of sand in one lift easily. It has an infinite variable drive which enables smooth changeover from low speed to high speed without manual intervention. Stetter batching plants and transit mixers offer the best-in-class support for mixing and transporting the concrete. It has an extremely sound design which makes it stand for ages together in building the nation.
CASE PRO Series: Reliability, performance and serviceability
The new PRO Series backhoe loader has a robust, robotically welded two-piece structural frame design which results in great stability, performance and serviceability. For versatility in different Indian operating conditions the machine is designed with heavy duty structures, tanks, fenders and rims. To give the series a muscular look, there is a dual-colour tone, with a mix of grey on the lower parts of the machine and power tan colour on the upper parts. Bigger buckets allow greater load lifting and increase productivity. The series is equipped with a superior working range and will reach deeper than any other backhoe loader. There is a choice of two configurations; a standard dipper dig depth of 4.5 and 4.7 metres or an extendable dig depth of 5.9 metres, believes Aneja from CASE India.
The power shuttle transmission provides four forward and reverse speeds. The hydraulically shifted clutches allow the operator to change direction and travel speed on the go, while the control valves deliver smooth speed and direction shifts, resulting in smooth and accurate operation. The new single-piece engine hood provides excellent access for maintenance. The machine layout has been designed to ensure all daily service points are easily accessible at ground level, for quick and efficient servicing. In the spacious cabin, the operator seat and ergonomics have been redesigned to offer better comfort and smooth lever operations. The PRO Series will be equipped with CASE’s revolutionary EAGLE EYE telematics solution for enhancing the performance and efficiency of the machine. This Asset Monitoring System gives the freedom of machine monitoring and remote diagnostics alerts at the click of a button on a mobile or desktop computer.
