Gates has trained many individuals on the technicality of hydraulic hoses, fittings and its applications with the help of its Training and Development team over the past many years. This July, an extensive two-day training program was conducted at Gates India Pune facility. The 2nd phase will be followed at Gates India Faridabad facility.
This two-day course covered the various theoretical and practical elements which will help the participants co-relate with their regular work mechanisms and customer interactions. The training comprised of hose – fitting identification, the importance of understanding the application appropriately, hose sizing, industry standards, material types and end terminations commonly used in the fluid power industry globally.
Apart from the theoretical sessions, the practical sessions included the manufacturing of a range of hose assemblies and pressure testing procedures. Further to ensure the health, safety and environment amongst participants, an extra session on health & safety legislation, competency – how is it defined, risk assessment, hose assembly and installation safety measures and the threats of hose failure was undertaken. After the successful completion of all sessions and assessment on learning’s gathered, the participants were facilitated with a training program certification on “Introduction to Hydraulic hose and fittings”.
The successful completion of such program, associates enabled themselves as an exclusive hydraulic solution provider to the customer’s problems depending upon specific applications. Gates is planning to organise more such programs in future on better understanding of Gates product line and as a step towards strengthening fluid power industry in India
