Besides being specialists in protective coatings, Hindustan Coatings has canned the problems associated with concrete floors for the protection against physical and chemical abuses.
Hindustan Coatings develops and supplies specialised coatings for original equipment manufacturers in various industries include chemical plants, power plants, auto ancillary units, engineering industries for their auto or machine finishes and protective coatings with aesthetic appearance to components and equipment manufactured by them. These coatings are also used by core sectors like auto industries, steel plants, cement and chemical plants and allied industries.
Technical know-howHindustan Coatings is obtaining technical know-how from Prof. Khanna of IIT Powai, who is having experience of more than two decades in R&D with world’s leading societies like SSPC and NACE for developing specialty coatings. The company is also in the process of obtaining ISO certification. “Our USP has been to undertake assignments of new coating developments for specific requirements of customers free of charge subject to the requirement being regular and viable and help the industry save their valuable time, money, and material,” the company said in a statement.
Painting capacity, testing and R&D facilities
Hindustan Coatings boasts of good painting set-up with latest state-of-the-art machinery and present coating capacity is 10,000 sq. ft. per day for industrial and specialty coatings. The company plans to double this capacity in the next few months.
Have excellent testing facility and in-house well equipped R&D laboratory for conducting quality tests of paints as per relevant IS/ASTM standards.
Finish, gloss, hardness, adhesion, heat resistance, acid/alkali solvent resistance tests for cured paints are conducted before dispatch of every lot.
PU, Epoxy and EPU-based floor toppingsBesides being specialists in protective coatings, Hindustan Coatings has canned the problems associated with concrete floors for the protection against physical and chemical abuses. It offers PU, epoxy and EPU-based floor toppings – thin, thick, trowel and flow applied systems such as thin coatings, trowel applied coatings, self-levelling toppings, slip resistant coatings, breathable eco-friendly coatings, chemical resistant floorings, UV resistant floorings, and ESD floorings beside others.
Plural component hot melt spray epoxy liningHindustan Coatings offers copper slag blasting and high performance epoxy lining through plural component hot melt rotary spray gun equipment for its specialist clients requirements to achieve 1,500 micron DFT coating.
Grit blasting and coating application procedure Copper slag grit blasting: Different chemistries lead to different operating results depending on the size and hardness of the grit. However the standard procedure of sand blasting is carried out by copper slag grit blasting with various sizes to achieve 50 to 70 microns profile as well as finishes as per SA-2 ½.
Steel grit: Steel grit blasting is ideal for aggressive cleaning applications. Steel grit quickly strips different types of surface contaminants from steel and other foundry metals. Steel grit is softer than aluminium oxide and does not fracture as easily, making it ideal for internal pipe line applications. The angular nature of steel grit produces an etched surface on metal for superior adhesion of paint, epoxy, polyurethane and other coatings.
Since Kramer is a primary steel grit supplier, multiple chemistries of steel grit are available. Steel grit that is formulated as a softer (40-50 HRC) metal rounds off rapidly, making it ideal for quick stripping of oxides and cleaning of moulds. Harder steel grit (55-65 HRC) maintains the angular nature of the grit to provide continuous cutting action. This coating of paint improves their corrosion resistance. The paint system consists of a two-part epoxy resin mixture when properly mixed and applied.
Characteristics of spray applied elastomeric, solvent-less epoxy coatings applied by plural component airless spray:
100 per cent solids, no VOC
Fast reactive, pot life in seconds to few minutes
Fast application: applied by plural component airless spray
Unlimited film build: 200 microns to 1 mm, 2 mm and above.
Exceptionally resistant to most chemicals
Excellent physical and mechanical properties
Non-toxic: approved for contact with potable
Monolithic, with extremely low permeability
Low friction improves fluid flow characteristics
Fast return to service can be put into service within minutes of application
It finds extensive uses in application areas where high-build coatings are needed to protect steel or concrete structures against aggressive corrosive environments. Protects against microbiologically induced corrosion (MIC), making it ideal for municipal wastewater applications
Being non toxic, it finds uses in municipal drinking storage applications storage tanks, water and wastewater pipelines, wastewater treatment & collection, buried tanks, potable water treatment & storage, concrete structures, concrete tunnels, railcars & tankers, ship hulls, ballast tanks & decks, cooling towers, offshore pipe lines, and mounded bullets.
