KiTEC is making PVC silent pipes for drainage applications

How pipes and fittings are being transformed in terms of design and materials innovation?

The market has been dealing with adverse conditions over the past few years as there has not been any latest innovation in product design. Despite the research being done at a high cost, these efforts didn’tprovide any positive result.

What are the key products and solutions offered by the company?

We are making multilayer (PE-AL-PE, PE-AL-PEX and PEX-AL-PEX) composite pipes, PVC pressure pipe (upto 200 mm dia), PE pipes (upto 160 mm dia), preinsulated composite pipe with 6 mm, 9 mm and 13 mm insulation thickness. The company is also making PVC silent pipes for drainage application and they are designed for multifloor traps. Composite pipes have various applications and the pipe is manufactured to suit the application and as per national and international specifications.

How are you experiencing the demand trend for your products?

Due to prevailing conditions, product demand is on the decline and we do not see any revival happening soon.

Which are the major demand drivers of pipes and fittings in the building construction sector?

The most important demand driver is cost. Since many options are available at varying prices, it is difficult to penetrate with technological quality products that will always carry the higher cost.

What are the challenges faced in the current market scenario? How do you see the future market growth?

Currently, it will be untimely to predict the market growth as we are still dealing with Covid-19 and the situation is quite fluid. We will be quite happy if we can sustain the operations at pre-Covid levels for the next two years.
