What’s your outlook on the Indian construction equipment market?
Presently, the new equipment purchases have slumped due to a lack of funds since buying involves large upfront payments. With the government stepping up its support to the infrastructure sectors along with adequate monetary measures aimed at increasing credit flow, the situation is likely to stabilise in the equipment sector.

The demand drivers for batching plants will definitely be the investment proposed in infrastructure, urban development and the housing sector. The potential demand for concrete equipment in India over the next few years will be quite substantial. However, the real challenge before manufacturers today lies in establishing new technologies quickly.

What, according to you, would drive the market in the next couple of years, and why?
As far as the driver of demand for equipment is concerned, Indian customers always look for ‘value for money’ whenever they go for equipment purchase. Customer understands that while procuring equipment he is also subscribing to the after-sales support that the manufacturer provides and that’s where brand comes into the picture.

What are the USPs at Maxmech that set it stand apart?
The demand-supply scenario is always dynamic. Buyers in the market place are being seen as far less sensitive to the price factor as was the case in the past.
