 Kroma Paints primarily manufactures epoxy, PU, and high performance anti-corrosive protective coatings. It has created new formulations and products that have passed all of the adhesion, impact, bend, and other important tests that demonstrate product performance and durability. These tests enabled us to meet the required film thickness and finish (as per OEM standards) for improved corrosion protection. To meet the desired film thickness and finish requirements in the shortest amount of time, we developed special coatings suitable for airless spray application systems, which significantly reduce the number of coats required and application losses to achieve the desired DFT, finish and lowering production costs

Kroma Paints has increased its in-house production capacity from 100 mt to 600 mt by integrating its raisins and additives production facilities. The company has also invested in increasing the automation of the manufacturing processes, which ensures consistency in raw materials and final products while also increasing their performance and durability.

 Impact of raw material pricing and market trends

 Construction equipment manufacturers, along with PEB, mining, crushing, material handling, marine, and other industrial segments, are a major customer segment of Kroma Paints. The CE segment has been hit hard by rising material and consumable prices, including paint, which has resulted in higher end-product costs. Kroma Paints is strengthening its in-house R&D and production skills and developing more cost-effective paints for construction equipment manufacturers and the PEB industry to address the rising cost of imported raw materials.

Measures to curtail quality and pricing challenges 

Kroma Paints is exploring more cost-effective alternatives to combat rising costs. Paints’ essential raw materials, resins and additives, are mostly imported from Europe, the United States, and China. Their costs have risen by 20 to 300 percent recently! This has resulted in a significant increase in the price of paint, as well there is also continual scarcity of certain basic ingredients.

 To combat the situation, we have been trying to re-design the painting system as well as reformulate products, along with the development of a few resins indigenously or locally to reduce logistic costs.
