India as a potential market
Italian firm Simex s.r.l. was established more than 20 years ago and today it is one of the leaders in the world for cold planer machines. The company believes that Indian market has got a very huge potential, but it needs to be pushed to create a kind of knowledge and culture.

“Simex, being a manufacturer with a progressive technology, niche market products, feels need to have high amount of knowledge to deliver good results to its customers,” Cristiano Legittimo, sales area manager for Simex said.

In order to establish its footprint in the Indian market, Simex has chosen Suretech Infrastructure Pvt Ltd as its partner. Incorporated in 1990, Suretech is specialised in infrastructure construction and foundation equipment.

Simex milling machines
Simex offers Planers (milling attachment) that are suitable for skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders and excavators. The prime application of Simex Planers is road maintenance. The products are ideal for repair / resurfacing of Asphalt as well as Concrete roads.

Simex planers are highly cost-effective compared to dedicated milling machines. Such attachments are very useful for small and narrow roads due to its compactness and accessibility.

Simex Planers provide faster and better performance because of its long profile, well defined cutting edge technology etc. Long life-span and higher control over the milling depth are some of the major advantages.

At bC India 2014, Simex has launched PLB series, an ideal machine for a range of applications typical of the Indian market. Talking about this launch, Sunil Newatia, Chairman, Suretech Infrastructure said, “Suitable for backhoes or excavators from 5 to 24 tonnes, PLB’s low vibration levels and parallel cutting edges make them the ideal cutting solution for precise levelling, surface repair and surface removal.”

Future outlook
Planers are most popular in both developed as well as underdeveloped worlds. Simex has done extensively well in Russia after the launch last year and expects to repeat the success in India.

“In India, we need proper potential to grow in the field and if we find a good channel with major base machine manufacturers, we’ll reach 100 units per year within next 5 years,” says Cristiano Legittimo.
