Water tightening process reworks the leakage problem as opposed to waterproofing, which is a chemical application and only temporarily fixes the issue says Tinu Titus Pereira, CEO, Wet2Dry Solutions Pvt Ltd.
If waterproofing is not the solution for damp wall and ceilings then what kind of treatment should be done?
It is very important to find the crux of the issue i.e. where the leakage is coming from for walls and ceilings. Whether the problem for damp walls and ceilings is happening due to rainwater or internal leakage, it needs to be investigated first. Once the problem is diagnosed then only we can decide on the treatment. If it is rain related problem then we can opt for any kind of chemical solution. For the damp ceiling, we have to check if the leakage is coming from above the ceiling i.e. terrace or balcony and then we can make an informed decision. Wet2Dry finds the root cause of the problem and then proceeds for rectification of work, which is related to the mechanically blocking sections using its unique technology.
Ideally, when is the right time for treating them and how often is it required?
In construction, most of the problems arise due to internal leakage and plumbing issues. In most cases, water drainage is not happening properly, and to rectify that, a water tightening process should be done. After doing the process, we would analyze the problem with the building thermography camera to find the leakages. After 90 days or so, scanning will take place and then the painting can start. Once the painting is done, it is foolproof for years.
Tell us about the ‘water tightening’ innovation your company has invented?
We have been working in Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) division in construction space in Dubai. After returning to India we have found that many of the flats are getting internal leakages. In most Indian cities especially metros, people are living in flats. In multi-story buildings, 99 per cent of flats are facing problems of leakage. After conducting thorough research, we have come to know that it requires a water tightening process and not the waterproofing process. Waterproofing is a chemical application, it can only inject chemicals and it can only fix the leakages temporarily. But leakages, seepage, and wall dampness won’t stop until it is rectified mechanically.
Wet2Dry is providing comprehensive water tightening process and it reworks the leakage problem. As it works on the internal leakage problem and it helps us get 100 per cent success.
Could you talk to us about the home inspection method and what kind of after-sales service do you offer to your customers?
Before or any interior designing, furnishing, and painting, the home must be inspected by a professional home inspection team. In the home inspection method, we inspect the particular area and make sure it doesn’t have any leakage issues. As the interior design is a very expensive process and it should ideally last for 10-15 years so the money doesn’t go in vain.
When it comes to after-sales services, we are offering a time-bound warranty period which includes resurveys. We have over 10-15 years of experience in this field and are specializing only on seepage and leakage problem in flats, walls, and ceilings.
Our future plans is to strengthen our branches in waterproofing in Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Ernakulam.
