Brief about the concrete chemical business.Concrete chemicals are basic additives which are generally added in the making of durable concrete of any kind of civil structure. They are also added to meet the aesthetic and design requirement of the building structures.
The concrete construction chemicals business in India is witnessing a significant growth by increasing awareness of providing quality and durable construction to the users. Builders segment, especially, has now stated knowing the advantages and necessity of using concrete admixtures to maintain high standards of the structures.
What is the growth of demand and supply for concrete chemical in last year?Last year, sale in construction chemical sector in India could have been nearly Rs.3,000 crore. The sector has seen a growth of around 16-20 per cent CAGR. This happened in spite of global recession, and India too got affected by this to some extent.
What do you expect this year?This year a lot of activities will be witnessed in the infrastructure sector. If we get good support from the Indian Government and some reduction in taxes, the construction chemical sector could be a key driver in the growth of the country.
What are the key products in concrete chemical segment? We, at M.J. Construction Chemicals, are always willing to provide the best products in the respective segment. We have around 200 different products in various categories. These are concrete admixtures, waterproofing systems, tile adhesives, cementitious as well as epoxy grouts, crackfilling compounds, industrial flooring systems, and polyurethane-based products, to name a few.
Are you planning to launch any new product in this segment?We have recently launched two products, namely MJ SUPERPLAST-RXL and MJ SUPERPLAST HP-100 which have specially been formulated for its use with crushed sand in the making of concrete. We are shortly launching new products based on Polyurethane.
