SICOMA manufactures concrete mixers for the OEM construction and infrastructure markets. Prashant Kumar, Executive Director, SICOMA Mixers India Private Limited, explained the major focus of Bauma CONEXPO 2023 as presenting their full range of concrete mixers, including their planetary mixers, whose demand is constantly expanding in the infrastructure industry.

What is going to be your focus during bauma CONEXPO 2023?

We want to take advantage of every chance to connect with our customers at bauma 2023. We want to reach out to our customers through electronic media, print media, and exhibitions; this is critical for us as a worldwide brand. Exhibitions like this allow us to meet our stakeholders and clients from the user market, who evaluate our equipment and innovative innovations. We also want to share our knowledge and experience with others involved.

What are the advantages of your concrete distribution systems?

We are one of the pioneers in making the concrete distribution system. If we have the numbers, we shall work towards localising our concrete distribution system and Powder Dozing System products in India. Our major advantage for our OEM customers in India is that SICOMA India is situated locally. We manufacture Concrete Mixers in India from our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Karnataka, Bangalore. Therefore, we provide a global product at a reasonable price to the Indian subcontinent market.

How are IoT and digitalisation adding ease to your equipment performance and its O&M practices?

We’ve integrated the Internet of Things (IoT) into our mixers to allow for remote performance monitoring. This will help with performance parameter analysis, resulting in significant cost savings on O&M. This has been applied on larger mixers, and field experiments are currently underway. Once field validation is completed, it will become a standard feature on all mixers. This will be made available to our end users on a yearly subscription basis.

How do you look at the market for large-sized mixers in the coming years?

We anticipate a growth in demand for equipment related to concrete and construction. However, the demand for larger-size Mixers will get a significant push if government policies sanction more concrete highways.

Can you talk about your latest and upcoming additions to concrete offerings?

Twin shaft mixers with a skip have been introduced for our OEM clients in India. These were previously exclusively available on imported mixers. As a result of localisation, the cost has been greatly reduced. This mixer will be introduced during the Bauma exhibition.
