Grundfos provides energy efficient pumping solutions with the lowest life cycle cost to its users. These pumps cover a broad range of applications and even wider variety of configurations. The company’s main products include circulator pumps for heating and air-conditioning as well as other centrifugal pumps for the industry, water supply, sewage and dosing. Grundfos’ latest innovations in pumps for the pharma industry are DTS and disinfection systems.• DTS (Dosing Tank Stations): DTS is basically a single point responsibility of building, supplying and commissioning of dosing skids which include the dosing pump, dosing tank, mixer, installation kit, piping, controller, etc. based on the needs of the customer. This supply of system eliminates resource planning at customer’s end, failures owing to mismatch of MOC, dimensions, etc. and most importantly the time, energy and efforts in planning the entire system at customer’s end.• Disinfection systems (ClO2 systems): A vital part in the water treatment area of any pharma industry that uses the water in the production of medicines, drugs, etc. ClO2 plays the role of disinfectant in killing almost all types of bacteria, viruses and germs that may be present in water and thus making it suitable for medicinal use. ClO2 owing to its versatility and effective performance is gaining more acceptances as compared to other disinfectants in the market.Though all types of pumps required in the utility section such as fire fighting, water intake, water treatment, water distribution, waste water transfer or disposal, wastewater treatment, etc. is supplied by Grundfos, the following have been the main offerings in this domain:• Booster systems: Booster sets are generally used to maintain uniform pressure at all usage points, in applications where the flow demand varies. These can be applications such as water supply for tall buildings, municipal supply and irrigation or industrial applications. Booster sets are a combination of several parallel-connected pumps often assembled from production and such that the whole set is connected to the application via only two hydraulic connections. This makes it possible to test the system as a whole before it leaves the factory. • Process cooling and heating or HVAC system – Primary variable pumping system: Variable Primary Flow (VPF) pumping systems utilise a variable capacity chillers and variable flow water pumping system to modulate cooling and water flow to meet chilled water needs and save operating energy costs. Cooling capacity is modulated with variable flow chillers based on the desired leaving water temperature. Water flow is modulated with VFD controlled variable flow primary pumps based on the differential pressure across the water system. With the increased usage of variable flow chillers in HVAC applications, flow through the chillers can be varied down up to 30 per cent of the designed flow rate. This VPF (Variable Primary Flow) system increases the efficiency of the hydronic system at part loads via conventional primary-secondary system.• Premium-efficiency motors: Grundfos is manufacturer of pumps and pumping equipment. Therefore, high quality electrical motors are a natural priority for the company. Premium-efficiency motors mean reduced energy consumption and consequently reduced harmful influence on the environment.• Pump Audit: Pump audit identify excessive energy consumption in any kind of pumping system. It focuses on the amount of material the pump is handling and flow variations during a relatively short and well-defined period. Contact: Grundfos Pumps India Pvt. Ltd.
