Varma gives an overview of the current industry performance. He also explains about Shakti Mining’s offerings in the crushing and screening segment. Excerpt:

You are one of the renowned players in the field of mining and construction equipment. Could you give us a brief overview of your operations?
Ever since the inception in the year 1986, Shakti Mining Equipments has been engaged in providing technologically advanced, cost effective and completely indigenous designed mineral and aggregate crushing and screening solutions. Thriving on goodwill generated by all its prestigious clients, Shakti Mining has built up a reputation which is second to none. Complete customer satisfaction has been the main motto of the whole team. The belief in concept of continuous upgradation and modernisation of manufacturing facilities has resulted in the finest quality products and market acceptance.

How do you look at the current industry performance?
The current market demand for crushing and screening equipment will rise consistently for the coming 5 – 7 years and this resurgence after the government policies changes related to infrastructure in India will most definitely bring up the GDP of the nation. It is the perfect time for the buyers to replenish new and latest equipment to cope up with the rising requirements. Also there is a growing demand for bituminous aggregates, driven by the revival of road construction projects, which opens up the Indian market for three stage portable tyre and stationary plants.

Is there a focus on any particular industry sectors you are looking at to expand in at the moment?
The ban on mining of naturally found river sand in most of the major states of India has resulted in a shockingly high requirement of artificially produced washed sand. Crushing and screening remains a key sector for your business. What are your latest additions in this domain?
Shakti believes in upgradation of technology of equipment for the betterment of clients so that they can have less maintenance and desired production capacity. Presently, we are focussing on sand washing and dewatering screens to enhance present demand of artificial washed sand, impactors for coal crushing to achieve high production capacity keeping in mind the huge requirement for crushers in CCL, WCL, ECL etc. Presently Shaktiman Jaw Stations comes up with its presence in coal crushing market which provides solutions for achieving Maintenance free operations with optimum production capacity. We are also focussing on Radial Stacker Conveyors specially designed for conveying coal at desired locations on site. Transportation plays an important role in coal mines hence; nowadays customers are focussing on radial stacker conveyors which will reduce their time, eliminates loader application for loading & can stock at various location points as desired.

Did you introduce any technology that helps to reduce pollution from stone crushing?
Shakti always insists their clients to built enclosure type crushing circuits to control the dust on primary level apart from this the technical team is always educating the customers to put in mist and fogging systems which are environment friendly and consume less water.

Do you export any product?
We are into export business since 1997 and our complete range of crushing and screening equipment suits the requirements of neighbouring countries, Gulf, African markets etc. We are having our different machinery traders and dealers for sales and services network which target the export market vigorously and promotes Indian products over others.
