Hopefully, with demonetisation whatever money comes to the government, a major chunk would be brought back in the form of investment towards infrastructure development.
RS Raghavan,
Managing Director, Proman Infrastructure Services
Proman Infrastructure Services recently launched its plaster sand mortar plant in technological collaboration with Sotecma Group of Spain. On the sidelines of Bauma Conexo India 2016, the company’s Managing Director RS Raghavan briefs about the market trends and new product development.
How was the Bauma Conexo India 2016?
It was much better than the previous editions and the location seems to be right. However we feel the organisers need to put more efforts to bring in relevant crowd. We did get some quality customers from northern region and received a few order booking. We have also got some quality leads which will help us to grow business in the future.
Did you launch any new product?
Yes, we have launched our new series of vertical shaft impactor VSI 1530 and high frequency screening equipment ProSizer for fine screening. We expect that the new machines would allow producing high quality aggregate and manufactured sand in the North Indian market.
What are your expectations from 2017?
The first three quarters of financial year 2016 has been good for Proman. The last quarter will be slower as the infrastructure segment will look forward for clarity on the government’s budgets post demonetisation.
In 2017, the growth of the industry will depend on how much the government spends on developing the infrastructure. Hopefully, with demonetisation whatever money comes to the government, a major chunk would be brought back in the form of investment towards infrastructure development.
What is your projection for Proman?
Proman would like to grow by around 30 per cent. I don’t know whether it will be possible to achieve this target keeping our focus only in India. We may have to look at other markets also to increase our export share from the current level of 25 – 30 per cent.
Are you looking at any kind of partnership?
We have recently launched our plaster sand mortar plant in technological collaboration with Sotecma Group of Spain. This will allow us to cater to more market segments. We will be manufacturing this equipment and plant in India with almost 80 per cent of localisation.
Please discuss more about this new product.
This is a niche concept of producing plaster sand and mortar in bags to be readily used. This is an add-on to the sand plant and will allow our customers to expand their business and add value to their customers.
