Dalmia Bharat inaugurates a state-of-the-art cement grinding unit in Tamil Nadu

Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL), a prominent player in India’s cement industry, has marked a significant milestone with the operational commencement of its cutting-edge greenfield cement grinding unit situated in Sattur, Tamil Nadu. The inauguration of this new facility, operating under the subsidiary Dalmia Bharat Green Vision Limited (DBGVL), underscores the company’s commitment to catering to the escalating demand for cement products in the southern region.

The Sattur Greenfield Cement Grinding unit, a crucial component of Dalmia Bharat’s strategic expansion plan, adds an impressive 2.0 million metric tonnes of cement production capacity to the company’s overall portfolio. With this latest addition, Dalmia Bharat’s aggregate installed capacity now reaches an impressive 43.7 million metric tonnes. The new unit was established with a substantial investment of ₹ 686 crore, will primarily produce cement, sourcing its clinker requirements from the existing integrated plants within Tamil Nadu. This well-calibrated move underscores the company’s ambition to fortify its market presence in the South and effectively address the surging demand within the region.

Dalmia Bharat’s deep-rooted connection with the southern region dates back to its earliest days in the cement industry, marked by the establishment of its inaugural cement plant in Dalmiapuram. The newly inaugurated cement grinding unit is not only at the forefront of technological advancement but also embodies the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. 

Mr. Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director of Dalmia Bharat Limited, shared his insights on the company’s ambitious expansion endeavours, stating, “In the midst of a robust real estate cycle and concerted governmental efforts towards infrastructure development, we find ourselves within a dynamic and resilient demand landscape. The Southern market, in particular, is experiencing rapid growth, and our capacity expansion is a direct response to the mounting cement requirements in this region.”
