In an interview with B2B Purchase, Sunil Desai shares how Dextra has evolved over the years and cemented its presence in the construction industry.
Diverse presenceDextra has a diverse presence across the Construction Spectrum. It manufactures an entire range of rebar splices (couplers), high-tensile bars, rock anchors, precast couplers and construction accessories.
Its rebar splices are used to connect rebars. This is cost-effective, time saving and technically correct method compare to orthodox method of lapping.
Dextra also manufactures high-tensile bars which is available upto an ultimate strength of 1,200 Mpa and can be customised further. These high Tensile Bars are used in marine tie rods, tension bars/suspenders for arch bridges, over bridges, and façade/canopies/roofing applications. Its post tensioned bars are used for segment lifting in case of segmental bridge construction, and smooth high-tensile bars are used for post tensioning application in segmental bridges as seismic restrainers.
Dextra also supplies a full range of rock anchors, used in tunnelling industry (all range of rock anchors used when tunnels are constructed using NATM method) as well as sonic tubes, used in cross-hole sonic logging tests conducted for checking concrete integrity in piles and other structures.
Becoming reliable partnerDextra entered India in 1998-99 and since been catering to the major infrastructure projects in India. Building 100 smart citiesWith the new government’s plan to build 100 smart cities, Dextra forecasts a better potential for precast industry. The company is already catering with its precast-related products to the construction industry. It plans to enhance its reach to the precast industry and bring some innovative products that can further enhance the pace of construction using precast method.
