Prefab technology is gaining momentum due its unique features in terms of quick installation, easy to maintain, easy to transport and 100 per cent modular in nature. The prefab modular toilet initiative, undertaken by Navi Mumbai-based DG Infrastructure & Contracts Pvt Ltd (DGIPL), largely emphasises on the government’s ‘Clean India’ movement.

“Prefab technologies can be used to build toilets quickly and cost-effectively, especially as traditional construction costs continue to rise. Modular construction is faster and adds to the vision of Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Programme,” said company’s Director Parvinder Singh Saluja. He added that due to project execution challenges and shortage of human resources, the traditional brick and mortar construction is giving way to prefab structures and materials.

DGIPL has successfully completed many projects across the country after launching DG InstaToilets (prefab).

DGIPL’s Director Mr. Saluja informed that the prefab technology has been adopted owing to the significant decrease in the duration of construction. He added, “It is also considered to be energy efficient and eco-friendly.” Prefabrication allows various structures such as columns, walls, floors and roof to be manufactured in the factory and then transporting them to the construction site where they are installed. “One toilet can be installed in just 2 hours.” Saluja ensured.
