H.B. Fuller introduces innovative sustainable adhesive technology for roofing solutions
.

Millennium PG-1 EF ECO 2 is an equipment-free, canister-based sprayable adhesive that uses a unique blend of naturally occurring environmental gases as a blowing agent, avoiding the need for chemical alternatives.

H.B. Fuller (NYSE: FUL), the world’s largest pure-play adhesives firm, has announced the debut of an innovative new technology that is driving change in commercial roofing installation while improving environmental responsibility. The H.B. Fuller Millennium PG-1 EF ECO 2 is a high-performance roofing adhesive that replaces chemical blowing agents with naturally occurring atmospheric gases. The ECO 2 Driven™ technology eliminates the use of high GWP propellants and Hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs), decreasing the environmental impact of adhesive dispensing while maintaining adhesion strength.

Millennium PG-1 EF ECO 2 is designed to meet or exceed existing North American environmental requirements and align with emerging worldwide commercial roofing regulations, making it simple to use while supporting sustainability goals. Canister-based adhesives can help reduce job site waste because canisters provide a large coverage area per unit and, when properly emptied, can be recycled according to local requirements.

“H.B. Fuller is committed to creating innovative solutions that make everyday products cleaner, faster, and more effective,” according to SuAnne Stevens, global vice president, commercial roofing. “Pairing this adhesive delivery method with the ECO 2 Driven technology results in a contractor-friendly solution that considers not only the environment but also the overall working conditions for the installer.”

The “EF” in Millennium PG-1 EF ECO stands for “equipment-free”, as it did in the first generation. This two-part low-rise foam adhesive efficiently mixes part A and part B, which are dispensed through two canisters, and has a unique spray nozzle that can quickly and conveniently switch between ribbon and splatter sprays. This allows for installing insulating board and fleece-backed roofing membranes using a single product that is simple to use and transport.

Furthermore, when compared to mechanical anchoring of roofing membranes, adhesives remove thermal bridging, achieve high wind uplift ratings, and reduce the danger of leaks and structural damage during re-roofing. These benefits demonstrate H.B. Fuller’s dedication to both innovation and sustainability.

Millennium PG-1 EF ECO 2 offers industry-leading performance and unique ECO 2 Driven™ technology, enabling clients to fulfil operational and environmental goals while providing value to roofing contractors and building owners.
