How is technology driving building sector?
.

“Day by day the requirement is increasing and all players in the Indian market are looking forward to give the cutting edge newer technologies and better costing to the customers,” said Samit K Patil, Managing Director, OxyGreen Constructions Pvt Ltd while talking about the current trends in procurement of scaffolding and formwork.

Mumbai-based OxyGreen Constructions Pvt Ltd offers services related to constructions and constructions management. Today, OxyGreen is a fast growing organisation, providing world-class and reliable products with emphasise on eco-friendly concept and technology.

Major buying factors
Patil also draws attention on the major buying factors and factors driving the procurement decision making. Speaking on the major factors a buyer should consider before making a decision of buying scaffolding and formwork, he says, “Quality and best system technology are the major factors. Technologies which are labour friendly are preferred since labourers are the end-users of any technology in construction. Repetitions in case of bigger projects, salvage value (i.e. after use resale value) and budget as per the project requirement should also be considered while buying scaffolding and formwork.”

Procurement decision drivers
Commenting on what is driving the procurement decision making apart from pricing, productivity and durability, he says, “Quality and grade of the material used drives the procurement decision making since these determine the finish of the casted product. Many formwork players use scrap aluminium material and reuse it for newer production, this degrades the quality and strength of the new product, while using original aluminium billets and ingots gives a better quality and one can maintain the 6061 T6 grade quality and requirement.”

Buying for big projects, renting for small projects
Focusing on the factors a buyer should consider while determining whether to rent or buy scaffolding and formwork, says, “Quantum of job to be done, in case of huge – mass housing projects buying is profitable if the overall analysis of profit making and utility is concerned by the developer but for smaller projects rather than investing upfront, they can go for renting.”

Advantages of GETO aluminium formwork system
Responding to a question on why a buyer should go for scaffolding and formwork offered by his company, Patil says, “Principles of OxyGreen adhere to all requirements without cost cutting in the making and delivering of the material. Hence we are determined to be the best in the market.”

Technologies which are labour friendly are preferred since labourers are the end-users of any technology in construction.
