New launches
Eicher has rolled out Eicher Pro 6049 and Eicher Pro 6041 in the 49 Ton and 41 Ton categories respectively. The tractor trailer, Eicher Pro 6049 offers customers a choice to upgrade to a more modern and efficient truck addressing the mass market for variety of applications in 6×4 tractor category. It has been designed to deliver optimum performance and peak power at 250 HP keeping customer profitability in mind.
The Eicher Pro 6041 is the 41 tonnage rigid haulage truck and offers a payload advantage of 3.5 ton over a 37 tonnage truck. The vehicle is powered by VEDX8 engine, which is the biggest and the most fuel-efficient engine available in the category. At 250 HP and 950 Nm torque, the engine delivers the highest power and torque combination in its segment. Pro 6041 is also the first vehicle in its segment to get an overdrive gearbox for higher top speed and better mileage. The product is a revolutionary breakthrough in the trucking industry, to meet growing demand in high value applications.
The trucks are designed to maximise business profitability while optimising the overall cost efficiency. Both these trucks boast of fuel efficiency and acceleration along with other value-added offerings, thereby bringing improvement to all key transportation elements like fuel efficiency, productivity and uptime. Further, the company has introduced revolutionary technologies for CVs such as AMT in trucks and buses, and seven speed transmission.
Accelerating construction
Flagship initiatives like ‘Make in India’ are providing impetus to the local construction activity, and focus on infrastructure bodes well for heavy duty trucks and tippers. This initiative coupled with other policies such as Smart Cities Mission for roads and construction projects, modernising railways and boosting urban development are continuously boosting the commercial vehicles market. The heavy duty truck segment has witnessed a growth of 20 per cent in the year 2017-2018 till date.
