The event showcased JCB’s dedication to “Made in India” innovation, environmental responsibility, and customer-centric solutions, demonstrating the company’s leadership in the quest for greener and more efficient building techniques.

JCB India presented its CEV Stage 5 ready machines at the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo, marking a significant milestone in compliance with the government’s most recent emissions and safety rules.  Designed with emissions compliance and customer centricity in mind, these machines are prepared to set a new standard in the construction equipment market, with 10-15 percent higher fuel efficiency than their CEV Stage 4 predecessors. The firm displayed CEV Stage 5 engines and machinery, such as backhoe loaders, telehandlers, skid steer loaders, compactors, and wheeled loaders.

Speaking at the event, Deepak Shetty, CEO & Managing Director, JCB India, says, “We are proud to be part of the prestigious Bharat Construction Equipment Expo, a prime example of the strong partnership between industry and government. This event brings together all stakeholders in one place, showcasing the power of collaboration. Over the past decade, the government’s focus on infrastructure development has further strengthened our commitment to investing in sustainable technologies and building world-class products in India. The JCB India pavilion features over 20 state-of-the-art machines, each contributing to the nation’s growth story.”

The Made in India CEV Stage 5 ready equipment on exhibit at the JCB pavilion is consistent with the company’s long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and adherence to the government’s emissions guidelines. The modern technology integrated into each machine reduces environmental effects and improves the equipment’s performance and power.

“Total Cost of Ownership is a critical factor in decision-making for businesses in the construction industry.  By optimising engine performance and utilising smart fuel-saving technologies, our CEV Stage 5 machines offer 10-15 percent fuel efficiency and reduced operating and maintenance costs. It’s a smart investment for customers seeking to improve their bottom line and future-proof their operations in an increasingly eco-conscious world,” adds Deepak Shetty.

JCB CEV Stage 5 machines have undergone extensive testing, with over 200,000 hours of real-world testing and over 70,000 hours of development and endurance trials. They have been tested at altitudes as high as 4500 meters in some of the most difficult terrains, such as Leh and Ladakh, ensuring remarkable performance and dependability even in the most extreme conditions.

The JCB Stage 5 engines come with Stage 5 pollution control technology, which comprises a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The engines also feature a strong fuel filtration system with longer main filter replacement intervals. This ensures the machine’s maximum uptime while maintaining the user experience.

The new line of equipment was also developed with the operator’s safety and comfort in mind. The operator cabins are reinforced with high-quality materials, making them Roll Over Protective Structures (ROPS) compliant with government safety laws.  They also provide improved ergonomics, lower noise levels, and simpler engine regeneration operations. The incorporation of user-friendly diagnostics and predictive maintenance capabilities, which assist in decreasing downtime and maintaining optimal machine performance, demonstrates JCB’s dedication to optimising clients’ return on investment.

JCB has been a pioneer in the heavy machinery business in terms of dedication to sustainability. Since 2021, the company has been reducing pollution in a historically diesel-dependent industry by using hydrogen in its technology. The hydrogen engine-powered digger prototype on show at the Expo is driven by a 4.8L Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine, which delivers performance comparable to a regular diesel engine.  JCB has committed more than £100 million in its Global Hydrogen Programme to develop these high-efficiency hydrogen engines.

JCB India recently announced that it has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL), India’s largest physical pre-owned marketplace for vehicles and equipment, to facilitate the selling of pre-owned certified JCB equipment. Growing infrastructure development in India has resulted in a rise in demand for construction equipment.  The availability of well-maintained used equipment is becoming increasingly significant for contractors and clients trying to save money without sacrificing quality.

Deepak Shetty says, “We look forward to this partnership with SAMIL to bring our high-performance equipment into the pre-owned market. This partnership also comes at a very opportune time when the industry is transitioning to Stage 5. The collaboration will allow us to meet the growing demand for value-for-money equipment while maintaining the high standards that JCB is known for. SAMIL comes with established experience and expertise in this sector and together we can ensure that customers across India receive the best quality products with the confidence that comes from direct support and product integrity from the original manufacturer.”

The JCB India machine demonstration at the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo demonstrates the company’s leadership in the production of environmentally friendly machinery, which is ideally matched with India’s ambition for sustainable growth. JCB’s customer-first approach has kept the company at the forefront of innovation, producing solutions that prioritise the end user’s real-time demands while paving the path for a more sustainable future.
