Kobelco Cranes India (KCI), one of the leading manufacturers of hydraulic crawler cranes, has inaugurated the frame fabrication facility at its Sri City plant. The dedicated facility is spread over 2,100 sq. m. The frame is one of the heaviest and costliest parts of the crane. With this new dedicated facility, the frames which are imported from Japan, will now be produced in India.

“What is much appreciated is that KCI has achieved its world top quality as KCL Japan has,” he further added. “We’re excited about the new capabilities of our plant,” Mr. Ikeda, Director – Factory Operations, KCI, shared his excitement. “To this facility, KCI will outdo its competitor much in technology and cost. We can achieve the top quality and better production by setting up same instruments and process that KCL Japan maintains,” stated, Mr. Izumi, President & Director, Kobelco Cranes India. “Setting up this fabrication unit is one of the major steps in order to actualise its planned export function to neighbouring countries which is already in its business scope in near future hopefully in Year 2013,” he added. KCI invested approximately Rs 25 crore to set up the frame fabrication unit which increases the production capacity from 90 units to 120 units annually.
