What are the new possibilities available for you at EXCON 2017?
EXCON, organised by CII, is the flagship trade fair for the construction equipment (CE) industry in India, the biggest of its kind. This year with the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) as sector partner, we expect EXCON to be more vibrant and industry-specific. Apart from providing national and international CE manufacturers with a forum to flex their technological muscle, the show will also enable direct interaction with a large number of customers on a variety of aspects – like new products, new models, pricing, service, etc. – factors which play the most important role in enhancing customer experience. R&D department at TIL is always working with the latest technologies to enhance customer profitability. We also undertook a recent drive to upgrade many of our existing products. Consequently we are banking on EXCON 2017 to generate plenty of new opportunities for us to present our products and services to the customer.
Which products will be on showcase, is there anything new for EXCON 17?
EXCON is a great platform for TIL to showcase its expertise in material handling and road building solutions, developed over many decades both in-house and by way of alliances with global technology leaders like Manitowoc Crane Group, Hyster and Astec Industries Inc. The expo provides us with the forum to highlight our brand strengths and our end-to-end product and service portfolio to the material handling and road building segment. This year at EXCON – OD4, Outdoor Area – we plan to launch some new products that will reinforce what TIL stands for – Technology, Innovation and Leadership. On display will be our new long boom truck cranes, long boom rough-terrain crane, pick-n-carry crane, reach stacker, 300-tonne all-terrain crane, mobile crushing plant, vertical shaft impact crusher, jaw crusher and cone crusher.
What will be the target markets?
Our equipment have a broad range of applications across multiple sectors and industries like roads and highways, ports, railways, power, cement, steel, irrigation, etc. With the revival of road projects in India, the market for our road building equipment – such as crushing & screening plants and RAP-mixing asphalt plants – is expected to open up in a big way. As for the material handling equipment segment – which includes mobile cranes and reach stackers – a lot of new opportunities are going to be presented by the national port modernisation initiative, railways, metro projects, solar power projects and irrigation projects, in addition to the road projects. Some additional impetus is expected from the coal mining sector, the Smart City initiative, urban infrastructure renewal, etc.
What do you wish to accomplish as you launch this new product?
As always, we expect huge footfalls at the expo. It’s the perfect forum for us to introduce our new offerings to the market as it provides us with a captive audience and brings us into close interactions not only with many of our existing clientele, but also with many potential new clients. Many of the leads generated at the expo translate to business deals going forward. TIL is already a market leader in the reach stacker and mobile crane segments. With our new product launches we hope to consolidate and further strengthen our market dominance.
