Nova Framex system: optimise reusability

Nova Formwork System from Wonder Moldplast Pvt Ltd is a modular plastic shuttering system used for all kinds of construction requirement. It is successfully being used for slab formwork. In order to optimise the reusability, the company introduced Nova Framex system in 2015. Here, the company’s Managing Director Vikas Mittal explains the USPs of plastic modular formworks.

Nova formwork system is a plastic modular formwork system which started manufacturing in 2011. It is a very light weight and yet robust system having many advantages over the conventional formwork used in the market. It works out economical as it can be reused more than 100 times and is very easy to install and remove thus, saves a lot of time and labour. It has a non sticky surface with a good chemical resistance and so it gives a very good finish to the concrete surface saving on plaster cost.

Nova Framex system
Nova Framex system was introduced in 2015 as the company felt the need of optimising the reusability compared to its earlier ABS system. This system is a combination of plastic and light weight steel tubes. The handling at sites in India is very rough and so it is essential to give a system which is nearly unbreakable. The company developed a particular plastic compound in its compounding facility to make it near to unbreakable but anything which has to be made with high impact strength it turns out to be flexible. The company added light weight steel tubes to the design making it stiffer to handle concrete pressure of nearly 6 tonnes per sq.m. It can be locked with pins and wedges which are also in plastic.

Application areas
It is being used in housing high rise constructions, commercial buildings, road projects, drainage projects, railway projects, bridges and low cost housing. The company is increasing its presence in the infrastructure projects as they feel that there is a lot of scope in this sector as the government has taken some firm steps for infra development.

Products manufacture other than formwork
Nova formwork system is a 40-year old family group into manufacturing of plastic products like plastic moulded furniture and crates, plastic raw materials like compounds and master batches, plastic double wall corrugated pipe for sewage and construction, plastic twin wall sheets and boards and plastic formwork and scaffolding accessories. There are a few more products which would be launched for the construction industry shortly.

The use of Nova plastic formwork would help shifting from one’s existing system as it is very economical. The quality of construction would also improve from the existing conventional systems.
