Procurement depends on quality assurance, cost effectiveness

“Today competition is big, so procurement mainly depends on two factors i.e. quality assurance with cost effectiveness. These can be satisfied by manufacturer and not some trader as manufacturer can control both factors – quality as well as costing. So, if buyer is getting quality goods with cheaper prices, he would definitely make it through. So, to procure goods manufacturer is far better option for the buyer,” said Vishal Garg, Director Exports, Swati Industries explaining the current trend in procurement of scaffolding and formwork.
Swati Industries, a group of companies is a global provider of forged, cast, machined, sheet metal, fabrication products for automobile, agriculture and construction industry has excelled itself in the field of manufacturing and exporting since 1992. Swati Industries is accredited to ISO 9001:2000 certification and follow the latest international standards and continuously upgrade R&D activities and infrastructure to comply with the latest standards. Garg speaks on the current trends and the factors driving the procurement decision making.
Buying factors
Stressing on the major buying factors, according to Vishal Garg, a buyer should consider the following points before making a decision of buying scaffolding and formwork:
• Company background, infrastructure, technologies and experience
• Quality
• Pricing
• Deliveries of goods.
Driving factors
Focusing on the factors driving the procurement decision making apart from pricing, productivity and durability, Garg says, “Procurement driving factor apart from pricing, productivity and durability is the services including – after sales services and the seller providing to the buyer i.e. fulfilment of the commitments made, regular follow ups, prompt and valuable responses to buyers’ problems and queries etc.”
Buy if required for more than 6 months
Speaking on the factors a buyer should consider while determining whether to rent or buy scaffolding and formwork, Garg says, “Buyer should consider the job time frame for using scaffolding and formwork. If the job at site is within or less than 6 months or just for one time use, then he may consider rental option, But if it is a high scale construction project for more than 6 months and also wants to re-use it then he must proceed with buying scaffolding and formwork.”
Why Swati Industries?
Talking about the USP of Swati Industries, Garg says, “The most effective reason is that we as Swati Industries ourselves are manufacturer so quality and costing factors can be fully matched up to the buyers needs. We do have experience of manufacturing scaffolding and formwork since past 25 years with having a big infrastructure along with all-in-house facilities. Rest are the services that we provide to buyers – fast deliveries, fulfilling of commitments, prompt responses and everything.”
