  Bengaluru-based Proman Infrastructure Services Pvt Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of crushers, screening and grinding systems. Managing Director of the company RS Raghavan talks about how the company has been able to maintain stable growth even amid the slowdown. He says, “…if you are creative enough you can find your niche.”

What kind of innovation you brought in to your product range during the past years?
We have been offering innovative crushing solutions right from the beginning of our business and it’s been a continuous effort. We believe in providing solutions for segment like aggregates, non-aggregates and industrial minerals. We have got the technology for producing concrete sand, plaster sand and today we are one of the leaders in manufactured sand.

At Excon 2015, we launched three major products for taking us to the next level in terms of plant capacities. We launched PROjaw 5040 jaw crushers having capacity of more than 400 tonnes and introduced 50 series PROcone cone crushers.. We have also launched a PROsizer which will find applications in industrial minerals, plaster sand and removing super fines.

How these three products are going to compliment your existing product range?
Basically, it changes the platform and will take us to the next level of crushing and screening. When we are moving into the new export markets, 400-tonnes is a standard size. India is also moving towards bigger plants as there are restrictions in terms of number of operating hours or shrinking deadlines. So this is really going to help us to get into that league.

Also, the Sizer is going to help us in niche areas like industrial minerals and plaster sand where we are offering along with our vertical shaft grinder which we launched in bC India.

What kind of unique advantages Proman offers?
Proman is all about providing professional crushing solutions and can cater from the low end in terms of the capacities of the requirements of the market to very big capacities of high end. So we are able to give a total solution across the segments and what people like in us is we provide complete solutions wherein they are able to achieve what they want rather than just sell what we have.

What action will take Proman to the next level?
Rather than focusing on the top line, our aim will be all about how we are able to cater to the customers across the applications and we would like to be the best in whichever areas we would like to focus. Crushing and screening is very vast. Whether it’s aggregate or sand, we would like to be the best wherever we are and to achieve that we would like to compete with anyone.

How about export?
Our export turnover has increased over 25-30 per cent during the past couple of years. Apart from enhancing presence in the existing overseas markets, we have opened up new markets in Africa, New Zealand and Middle East. It’s been a good journey for us.

Today, the overall market seems to be a little positive. How about crushing and screening equipment business?
In every sector if you are creative enough you can find your niche, and we have been doing that. Even during the tough phase of past two years, we have been able to grow consistently. Now that the market sentiment is good, we will be doing well.
