Kirloskar Chillers has always been a pioneer and innovator; it was the 1st Indian chiller manufacturer to offer AHRI certified chillers, and the 1st to establish an AHRI-certified chiller test facility in India. In 2013, KCPL introduced a range of oil-free centrifugal chillers using magnetic bearing compressors with outstanding part load performance, very low noise levels and soft start features, which have proved to be popular for continuous duty applications such as hospitals, hotels, pharma and process cooling applications.

Various options of voltages, starters and tube materials make the range suitable for every application. KCPL also offers a range of Heat Pumps up to 1000 kW for hot water generation and low temperature chillers down to (-)10 C brine temperatures.

Other innovative products include Air-Cooled Screw Chillers with adiabatic cooling, which offer dramatic savings in power with a minimal use of water, suitable for hot and dry regions.

KCPL has also introduced web-based remote monitoring for its chillers, allowing continuous monitoring of the health of the chillers from a central control room and ensuring trouble free operation through early diagnosis and preventive maintenance.

Kirloskar Chillers was a pioneer in manufacturing chillers with ozone-friendly HFC refrigerants to the Indian market in 1996, at a time when CFC refrigerants were the norm. Today, its entire range of products uses zero-ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) refrigerants such as HFC 134a and HFC 407C.

In continuation of this ‘Green’ commitment, KCPL has recently introduced Water Cooled Screw Chiller with 4th Generation Hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) Refrigerant R-1234ze. These chillers offer efficient flooded evaporator design, lower operating / standing pressures compared to R-134a chillers and Inverter-driven compressors to enhance chiller part load performance.
R-1234ze refrigerant is a safe, efficient and sustainable alternative to HFC Refrigerants. Some of the features of using Refrigerant R-1234ze are as follows:
• Zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential)
• GWP (Global Warming Potential) less than 1
• Reduces direct CO2 emissions by 99.6 per cent
• Reduces indirect CO2 emissions due to the lower energy consumption
• Non-toxic, low flammability
• Atmospheric life only 18 days, compared to 13-year life for R 134a

KCPL is a proud proponent of the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ policy, striving to offer world-class products designed and manufactured in India to the domestic and international markets. In 2017, Kirloskar Chillers will be executing a landmark order for eight 4,000 kW (1137 TR), CE marked, seismically qualified, 6.6 kV Centrifugal Chillers for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) atomic energy project at Cadarache in France, a joint project involving participation of 9 countries.
