Ramco Cements’ employee, Dinesh Rajaiah, wins 2 Bronze medals at Uganda Para-Badminton International 2023. In Men’s Singles SL3 category and Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 category.

Ramco Cements’ employee, Dinesh Rajaiah, and his doubles partner Premkumar Ezhil ascend by 5 spots to secure the 10th rank in the BWF Para-Badminton World ranking, thanks to their doubles bronze medal at the Uganda Para-Badminton International 2023.

The championship, organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Badminton Confederation Africa, and Uganda Badminton Association, took place in Kampala, Uganda, from July 3 to July 9, 2023. The event saw participation from 212 players representing 25 countries. This tournament served as one of the qualifying events for the Paris Paralympics 2024.

Team India demonstrated dominance by capturing a total of 42 medals, including 13 Gold, 12 Silver, and 17 Bronze, across various categories. The medal winners, including Dinesh Rajaiah, were honoured by the Tamil Sangam in Uganda, with Dr. Venkata Krishnan, Chairman, and Dr. Mohamed Rafi, General Secretary of Tamil Sangam, present to felicitate them. Dinesh and Prem had previously reached the quarterfinals in the Spain Para-Badminton International 2023 held in February.

Dinesh embarked on his journey in 2017, starting with Ramco Cements’ inter-unit Badminton tournament. Reflecting on his achievements, Dinesh expressed gratitude to Ramco Cements for their unwavering encouragement and support. The upcoming Paralympics will take place in France in 2024, and the qualifying rounds commenced in January 2023. Ramco Cements extends their best wishes to Dinesh and the Indian contingent for the 2024 Paralympics.
