SIAM Cement BigBloc Construction Technologies Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Gujarat-based BigBloc Construction Ltd and Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG), is poised for the commercial operation of its inaugural plant in Kapadvanj, Gujarat within the next 3-4 months. Specializing in the production of AAC Blocks and ALC panels, the joint venture will market its products under the brand name ‘ZMART BUILD’. Notable officials from SCG Group and BigBloc Construction, including Jirapat (DMD and Green Biz Director) from SCG, Smitthida (Marketing Manager) from SCG, Palapong Palarith (Technical Advisor) from SCG, Akkharaphon Tipphayawong (Director, SCG India), and Naresh Saboo (Managing Director) and Manish Saboo (Head – Marketing & Strategy) from BigBloc Construction, visited the factory site to assess the progress of the plant construction.

BigBloc Construction has forged a strategic joint venture with Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG) to establish a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Kapadvanj, Ahmedabad, producing 3 lakhs cubic meters (CBM) per annum of ALC Panels and AAC Blocks. In this joint venture, Construction holds a 52 percent stake, while SCG owns 48 percent—a significant milestone marking SCG Group’s inaugural investment in India. SCG, a major player in the cement and building materials sector, boasts a prominent position in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The Kapadvanj project, with a total estimated investment of ₹65 crore, is anticipated to yield annual revenues of ₹100-125 crore at full capacity. The joint venture company, SIAM Cement Big Bloc Construction Technologies Pvt Ltd, has secured a 60,000 square meter land for the project, finalized banking arrangements for financing, and initiated the procurement of machinery and technical services for the plant.

Ltd, expressed satisfaction with the progress of BigBloc Construction Ltd’s plant construction. The company, a key player in SCG Group’s ventures in emerging markets, is nearing completion of the plant. SCG International is optimistic about the prospects in the rapidly expanding Indian market and sees this venture as a stepping stone for additional opportunities.
