STP Limited, formerly known as Shalimar Tar Products, is a part of the Turner Morrison Group, widely acknowledged as the “Pioneer in the World of Waterproofing”. STP started its waterproofing revolution in 1935 with tar and bitumen as base products. In 1947 STP introduced Tarfelt BH, FG in India, which was followed by “Superior Polyplus” now Superior ShaliPlus – a cost effective Indian solution especially suited to Indian needs. Further down in 1996, the APP membrane was brought to India. With the advent of modern construction techniques in India, for over 70 years, STP products have set industrial standards for the construction industry. TarFelt and ShaliTex – its registered brands have outgrown into generics and are now a part of waterproofing folklore. Today, STP continues its tradition of quality construction chemical products that are specially formulated and manufactured to perform. With the advance and modern construction technique in India, STP was quick to realise the need for new generation waterproofing membrane. It has now tied up with Carlisle to exclusively market EPDM and TPO in India
 
STP is a diversified player in the infrastructure space. It has four business verticals: Construction Chemicals, Bitumen Based Waterproofing and other Products, Coal Tar Based Products and Road Surfacing products including Road Marking Paints
 
First Generation Waterproofing Membranes: TarFelt (Original Oxidized Bitumen Waterproofing Felt) and TarFelt-FG (Glass Fibre Base Bitumen Waterproofing Felt).
 
Second Generation Waterproofing Felts: Superior ShaliPlus (Indian solution for the Indians needs. This has 100 micron HMHDPE core); Superior ShaliPlus Aluminum (with  Aluminum Top); ShaliPlus -Modified Felt with 20 micron (HMHDPE) reinforcement and ShaliPlus Aluminum (with  Aluminum Top).
 
Second Generation APP Modified Waterproofing Membranes: Super ThermoLay (APP Modified Waterproofing Membrane with Non Woven Polyester Reinforcement); Super ThermoLay MT( With Mineral Top); AquaShield (APP Modified Waterproofing Membrane with Glassfibre Mat Reinforcement); Aqua Shield MT ( With Mineral Top); Super Thermoflex (With SBS Modified Bitumen) and Supertene (Self – Adhesive Membrane).
 
New Generation Waterproofing Membranes: Supertene Bridge deck  (Self Adhesive Membrane for Bridge & Road application); EPDM (SURE SEAL) & TPO (SURE WELD) – the top end highly flexible, breathable, durable, UV resistance, easy to apply on any surface in any conditions, waterproofing membranes with excellent services and warranties especially with high water table areas in the commercial and industrial market place. Depends upon the cycle, these membranes are available in thickness of 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm and 5 mm.
 
Chemical Waterproofing: Shalimar Acrylic used for terrace slabs/toilets & basement, swimming pool, raw material reservoir, etc.; Shalimar Elastic used for external waterproofing against grounds moisture, swimming pools, water reservoirs & balconies; Shalimar SBR Latex used for repairing old & damaged columns, beams & soffit of slabs; Shalimar Supercrete is bonding & waterproofing agent for repair, also used for bonding old & new concrete; ShaliWeld used for universal bonding & waterproofing agent for plaster, stucco, concrete; ShaliCryl 215 used for waterproofing of slope roofs, domes, any complex geometry walls & facades; Shalimar Dam it used to fill cracks & stop active leakages in concrete and masonry structures; STP No. 1 used for water retaining structure, tanks, basements and reservoirs, etc.
 
Bituminous based Waterproofing Compound: TarPlastic can be used to fill the cracks/gaps, for example: around hooks are used for fixing AC/CGI sheets.
 
Apart from membrane STP also markets the high quality Geotextiles and Drainage boards. STP products are used in residential and commercial complexes, in thermal power plants and factories, oil and gas pipelines, bridges and flyovers, airport runways and tunnels, dams, highways and border roads. The company has developed special competency in Corrosion Protection, Waterproofing and Epoxy Floorings.
