The New Generation Excavator series is the most major update to the product line in two decades, giving clients the EDGE to Success through improved efficiency, durability, and safety, increased fuel savings, and ease of ownership and maintenance.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) marked its most significant launch since Volvo Days 2024 with the introduction of New Generation Excavators, articulated haulers, wheel loaders, and more. The New Generation Excavators are presently being rolled out in Southeast Asia.

The first five models in the New Generation range are the EC210, EC220, EC230, EC300, and EC360, which will be available for purchase throughout the region beginning in January 2025. The first unveiling took place in Singapore on January 17th, with a customer event attended by over 100 people. The flagship 20-tonne New Generation EC210 model was showcased alongside the L120 electric wheel loader. Additional launch events are planned throughout the region, allowing customers to see the new range up close and in person.

Our EDGE to success
The introduction of the New Generation Excavator series is consistent with Volvo CE’s “Our EDGE to Success” strategy in Region Asia, highlighting the company’s dedication to delivering client success through competitive products, great services, and a trustworthy distribution network. The EDGE idea was originally launched at the Region Asia dealer conference in September 2024 to emphasise the significance of collaboration among Volvo, its dealers, and consumers in achieving a competitive edge for all parties. The EDGE concept also outlines the primary drivers of customer outcomes.

Enhanced efficiency
The Volvo engine produces more power and torque to enhance performance. There are ten work modes for making efficient use of engine power across all segments and applications. The strong engine and matching hydraulics with faster cycle times increase customers’ productivity like never before on a New Generation EC210.

Durability and safety
The strong machine design and heavy-duty configuration of the New Generation EC210 will ensure that it excels in any application. The New Generation machines have improved operator safety with 3-point side access, emergency shutdown, rearview camera, and anti-slip plates. Operator comfort is enhanced by more precise controls, a ROPS cab, an ergonomically built human-machine interface, and a better operator surroundings.

Greater fuel savings
Our upgraded hydraulics in the latest generation of Volvo excavators significantly cut fuel consumption. It is accomplished by adjusting engine speed and hydraulic flow rate dependent on the work at hand, resulting in up to 15 percent increased fuel efficiency and lower running costs.

Easy to own and maintain
Minimising downtime is critical for ensuring clients’ return on investment. The New Generation Excavators are intended for easy service access and extended service intervals, which reduces maintenance costs and increase machine availability. A fuel shut-off valve also makes it easier to change fuel filters, preventing fuel spillage and saving money.
