Could you brief us about your material handling portfolio?
STAHL CraneSystems is one of the leading crane technology companies, manufacturing rope and chain hoists and crane components in Germany since 1876. We have hoists ranging from 125 kg to 160 tonnes, supplied through our crane partners worldwide for various applications. The spectrum of industries into which we cater to ranges from construction, power, engineering, automobile, plastics, space engineers, defence to name a few.
What is your most significant offering in the lifting technology?
With of chain hoists we go up to 6.3 tonne and our speciality lies in building custom-built chain hoist based solutions. For example, we have built up to 30 tonne using multiple hoist for a specific solution. Our speciality offerings are twin hook hoist, short head room and very short room hoists. With rope hoists, we have developed hoists working in (-) 50 C in Siberia. Our SH & AS Series hoists are very well established in reliability and performance worldwide.
What makes your wire rope hoists reliable, long-lasting and powerful?
The German engineering, the SH & AS Series and also the winches have gone through three generations of design upgrade based on the customer expectations worldwide. For example, if you are building an FEM 2M hoist of STAHL platform we always use an FEM 4M motor which is a major differentiating factor compared to other German brands.
How to select the right material handling equipment for warehousing?
Warehousing is the upcoming need in our country and it has an excellent scope for growth. The equipment which must be used should be safe, reliable, compact in size, easy to handle manually or by remote control. In a warehouse we should take it to account, the type of material to be handled. For example, smaller, medium or bigger size, the number of operations cycles per day, the size of the warehouse, the height involved and the need for automation.

An explosion is a precipitate chemical reaction of combustible matter with oxygen setting free high energy. In this connection, combustible matter may be gases, mists, vapours or dusts. An explosion can only take place if three factors come together: combustible matter (in suitable dispersion and concentration), oxygen (in the air) and a source of ignition (example: an electric spark).
It is thus necessary to prevent ignition or reduce the effect of an explosion to an innocuous level. To ensure this, apparatus which is used in potentially explosive atmospheres must be designed, manufactured and of course marked I compliance with the relevant regulations (ATEX product directive 94/9/EC, IECEx regulations etc.
