It has been proven beyond doubt that women are not secondary to men in any area of work. Women have proved their mettle in men dominated areas. Different trade and industry areas where skilled professionals are desired have witnessed the workmanship of women. As manufacturing is experiencing a renaissance an increasing number of women have displayed their expertise in the field of welding too.
Welding is a promising industry. Traditionally it is designed for men but in this contemporary age more and more women are in a position to be a part of this industry. The complexities involved in handling the tools and equipment’s have been reduced considerably with the advent of modern technology. Technically qualified women can supplement to the demand of welding industry as it faces shortage of skilled workers.

In terms of education, getting the necessary training to become a welder is significantly less time-consuming as well as less expensive. Women currently make up only 10-15 per cent of the manufacturing workforce; therefore there is a good deal opportunity to take advantage of an excellent career opportunity. With the right skills and experience, a woman can find herself in demand, with more choices than before. To stand out in the industry they should become knowledgeable as it is a critical job which should be flawless.
Women can be more precise in dealing with the welding tools. To encourage women to become efficient welders Woman Welding competition was held in 2018. The event was a grand success. Women Welders from different domains participated in the competition. The participants had come from different companies like Mahindra and Mahindra, GE India, Reliance Naval Engineering and many other industrial giants. The event received wide spread coverage in the media across the nation. Coverage was done by The Hindu, The Indian Express and many other media channels.
This Year KEMPPI India and its premium partner NextGen Plasma are proud to announce the Woman Welding Competition 2019. The completion will be begin in the month of November 2019. This time the event will be held in Pune, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. The national final competition will be held in KEMPPI India, Chennai.
