What are the opportunities you see in Indian mining sector today?
India has large reserves of Iron ore, Bauxite, Chromium, Manganese ore, Baryte, Coal and Zinc. Hence the country is considered as one of the most promising mining markets in the world.

What kind of innovations are designed by you for sustainable growth in mining operations?
AAC Mining Executors Group is using various innovations for sustainable growth in mining operations. We use mining software for geometrical analysis of development drilling rounds like hole length and collaring points. This information provides an important foundation for improving the drilling quality and the production rate. We also use long feed drills which is much desired for effective pull improvement. We are digitally enabled, for underground operations, it allows us to keep a track of our underground equipment and operations. We have also introduced custom modifications in our supporting machines which enables us to use two booms and thereby improve our overall efficiency in mining operations.

What are the tech-transformations we are witnessing in the mining sector today?
There are a number of tech transformations being witnessed by the mining sector today. The sector has opened up to the idea of using Tele-remote systems where operators can operate their machines from the surface instead of underground. Currently, tele-remote systems are used in hauling & loading and drilling as well. Drones are being put to good use, they are being used for asset management, time-lapse photography, measuring stockpile inventory, safety and surveillance in hazardous areas and site mapping.

The mining sector has also been using autonomous haulage systems for the last five years. Significant progress has been made in deep drilling too, now it is possible to drill up to 800 meters depth in high accuracy. Likewise, Cavity monitoring systems have made it possible to draft the 3D geometry of mines, tunnels, and stopes, all of which helps in mine stability and calculation recovery. Simulators has enabled mine operators to train operators efficiently. Operators can now be trained in situations similar to real operations without exposing them to any danger. For emergency situations like accidents and mine collapse refuge and survival, chambers are being increasingly used. In case of accidents or collapsing, refuge chambers provide protection for trapped people. It can supply oxygen to four to eighteen trapped victims for 48 hours or more.

How digitalisation and smart solutions are impacting Indian mining?
Smart mines are the future, and they bring multiple benefits such as reducing human risk, reducing operational costs, they also help in stress-free automation of existing operations. They also help to track, monitor and improve the mining operations

What are the criterias to select an appropriate mining equipment/solution?
The selection of mining equipment depends on numerous factors some prime factors are capital cost and operation cost, estimated utilization and availability, equipment life, service and maintenance requirements, technological advances and automation. Then there are other factors too like tunnel dimensions, ability to meet required production targets, trucks be loaded by an LHD or chute, compatibility of haul trucks with loading equipment and the density of the material that will be loaded

What kind of challenges are involved in bulk material handling while mining?
It is spillage, usually occurs at material transfers, loading points, discharge points and along the conveyor length and also dust is a big challenge in bulk material handling while mining.

Do you think autonomous systems will reduce human risk in mining environment?
Autonomous systems will definitely reduce human risk in the mining environment. It will make mining safer and it will also reduce operational and maintenance costs.
