Case Construction Equipment had centre stage at this year’s bauma exhibition in Munich, with a variety of equipment demonstrating the range of machineries on offer. From mini excavators and dozers to wheeled loaders and wheeled excavators, Case Construction Equipment range meets the needs of customers in many industry sectors and diverse geographical regions.
However, the total equipment solution from Case didn’t stop with the machinery. As part of the Fiat Industrial Group of companies, the stand included a complete technological offering with a dedicated display of market leading FPT industrial engine technology.
Power and control for M Series dozersIn a world exclusive, Case showcased the M1650, the first in a new three-model range of M Series dozers with operating weights of 13-20 tonnes, each delivering best-in-class drawbar pull, reduced exhaust and noise emissions, and advanced automated control systems for increased productivity. Powered by fuel-efficient Tier-4 interim FPT industrial engines, using proven selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology to achieve lower emissions with improved fuel consumption, the dozers boast a 9-16 per cent increase in power, yet deliver a 10.5 per cent fuel saving, along with a 19 per cent increase in productive efficiency.
Triple-pump hydraulics for wheeled excavatorsbauma will offer the first chance to see two-wheeled excavators of the latest 8 WX Series from Case. The series benefits from a three-pump hydraulic system, delivering increased performance and control. Case Intelligent Swing (CIS) allows the operator to adjust the upper structure slew speed to suit the application. The new dedicated Case Levelling Mode (CLM) maximises speed, ease and precision in levelling operations. The 8 WX Series wheeled excavators also have a revised engine speed and working mode selection dial to provide a single point of contact for the operator when setting the machine to work.
The 8 WX machines drive through a fully automatic hydrostatic powershift transmission that is directly mounted to the rear ZF axle for maximum ground clearance. Multi-disc wet brakes and axle oil changes of 2,000 hours provide reassuringly powerful braking with reduced operating costs.
621F drives in to baumaThe Case 621F wheeled loader made its first appearance at bauma, after a successful introduction in other extra European markets. Driving through a proven ZF auto powershift transmission and heavy duty axles, the 621F is equipped with a 100 per cent locking front differential for maximum traction and reduced tyre wear.
The new M Series dozers, 8 WX Series and the new Case 621F are available in fuel-efficient, emission-compliant engine configurations provided by FPT industrial for the CIS, Asia Pacific and Chinese markets.
First Tier-4 final midi excavatorsAs one of the leaders in emissions control, Case launched two Tier 4 final midi excavators. The short radius CX75C SR and the conventional CX80C MSR use high pressure common rail fuel injection, cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to meet the stringent emissions standards in Tier-4 regulated countries. This advanced solution delivers more power for less fuel, lower particulate matter emissions and a significant drop in noise levels, while there is no requirement for a costly diesel particulate filter or for fuel-consuming regeneration. Case midi excavators are also available with dedicated, fuel-efficient engine configurations for specific markets not complying with Tier-4 standards.
The excavators develop up to 9 per cent more hydraulic power thanks to high-flow hydraulic pumps. Cycle times have been reduced, while digging forces increased by up to 3 per cent. The machines benefit from a 7 per cent wider cab that uses the same monitor and operator interface as the larger CX C Series of crawler excavators.
Backhoe loader in the pink for cancer awarenessAn unusual pink 580 tractor loader backhoe brought a different colour to the Case stand this year. Produced at the Burlington, Iowa plant in the US, the machine was built to raise awareness of breast cancer after design engineer Marvin Linder’s wife, Leslie, died of the disease. The 580 bears a digging for a cure decal and has been used to raise funds at various events across the US.
With its new expanded product line-up, Case consolidates its position as a global key player and full line provider of construction equipment. With a strong heritage of leadership, innovation and reliability built since its foundation in 1842, Case nowadays offers a wide range of products globally, complemented by tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of its diverse customer base around the world.
